Will the first teaser be enough to whet your appetite?

hard to imagine that they would do a 60 second teaser a year in advance.

most i'd expect a year in advance is a few seconds, some awesome music and the film title.
i'd hope to see a character or 2.. but i wouldn't be shocked if we see zip until spring.

and whatever i see... no it wont satisfy my appetite lol

Depending on the nature of the teaser.Just a logo with the title and some background music would be meh to me.

 

I think the first teaser will be the most cryptic, unrevealing teaser of of all time, maybe a shot of space, some music.. Maybe we'll just hear Vader's breathing - that will really rile the fans.

Well the all mighty Williams IS supposedly going to be putting together something new just for the teaser. It may very well be a decent length and surprise us. Disney's Avengers 2 teaser was pretty lengthy. Only time will tell.

 

One thing we know about Williams... it will be all new and totally identifiable all at the same time...

 

I hope it's not 1 of those trailers that shows absolutely nothing, plays 1 song from the OT, and then shows the title card.

I hope we get atleast a slow pan shot of a hooded figure, who turns around and removes his hood to reveal a bearded Luke Skywalker, you could even have him ignite his green lightsaber. People would go NUTS just off that alone. It doesn't even have to be a scene that's in the film, just something they shot particularly for the trailer (something JJ has done before). That would be great.

HAHA I remember when everybody thought THIS was a Star Wars teaser trailer because of the opening with the stars, the piano playing what seemed like notes from Yoda's theme, and the "Soon Will"

Well.. we know Williams is recording original music, so at least you have that...

 

Can't wait to hear what Williams cooks up. as I said, if it's just a slow pan reveal of Luke and his lightsaber, with some new Williams music, that'd be glorious for me. Just to get a small glimpse, and would (hopefully) put an end to all these crazy rumors.

If they go all out and give us an Age of Ultron style teaser, I'd be extremely pleased.

 

I think we're going to get something similar to the Star Trek teaser trailer... If I remember right, it was the music and guys working on the USS Enterprise...

 

If they did that much... work... on the Hunk of Junk teaser... just on a joke between directors...

What else can we expect but greatness? And yeah, I wouldn't put it past JJ to go through all the hoops to film special segments just for the trailers...

 

A year away from release, I don't think we'll be seeing much in the way of CG. Something in the same vein as JJ's first Star Trek teaser is most likely. How far from the movie's release was that?

both very different.. first had extremely early teaser, second was almost last minute. apologies if these are not correct.

 

As long as the OT characters footage is from EPISODE 7 then yes I would love to see a Teaser trailer like the one from ROTS

 

Actually the Avengers 2 teaser was only a few seconds long with lines from the past movies then the title reveal "Age if Ultron" out like a year ago. The full trailer that came out last week was not a teaser.

 

I don't think the first teaser trailer, no matter when it comes, will be any longer than 25-30 seconds. However, with rumors that JW is scoring it independently and that it's already been cobbled together, if we're to believe the rumors, I would expect some quick shots (flashes really) of the characters leading into a rather epic reveal of the Big 3. I almost think a title, too -- Children of the Force -- since this line was revealed by Vader in the Rebels prologue that was added.

At any rate it will do exactly as intended -- drive us all wild and throw fuel on the bonfires of our speculations and conjectures. It will hold me for a week or so, but will ultimately make me crazy to see the movie yesterday. Think of it as drinking sea water. You'd think that the water would quench your thirst but it only makes it worse.

 

Hopefully JJ's reliance on practical effects won't make a CGI-heavy trailer neccessary.

 

I would doubt we see much of anything by way of space shots or anything with a lot of CGI yet. Possibly a CGI character (Serkis) if any. I really expect bare bones minimum that could have been done briefly. Course I say that and they've already had 168 days to work up some shots . . . .
