There are many people who would love to capture a Jedi

Perhaps the Warlord is Daisy's father, and he stashed her years ago when he went on his campaign of vengeance, and he is working with Luke... I have been going on the idea that Luke was the Warlord, but... maybe the Warlord was one of Luke's students who felt that the Jedi should be a bit more... aggressive...

Welcome to the conversation OneTrickPony, as you are new here I will warn you that we tend to rip each others comments apart, but for the most part we are trying to dig to the bottom of things and look for weaknesses in theories... very seldom is it malicious...

As for not having read the books, don't worry, they aren't canon anymore... you probably have a clearer view on potential plots than people who's minds are clouded by the EU

I think a journey like that would never end... There are several ways to look at it...

It's like you are in a room with a gun, and you are surrounded by idiots. Normally you can suppress the urge to shoot them, but sometimes you get tired and weary, and it would be so much easier to deal with them if you shot a few first, the rest would probably stop doing stupid things. One day you are particularly tired, and they are particularly stupid, and you shoot one. Up until then, you had never pulled the gun out... you swore you never would. Now you have, and you know, it wasn't that bad... in fact, it felt kinda good to see them sort up for a change.

The next time, it is easier to pull the gun out, less resistance...

Soon, the gun becomes the first option to dealing with any crisis... anything... anything at all... just saves time because the fools wouldn't listen anyway

When all you have is a hammer, everything begins to look like a nail.

This is my whole Batman theory... Luke isn't evil per se, he is doing what some people would call bad, but he is doing it for what he considers a just cause...

Remember, for true evil to exist, the first thing that is required is that they have to believe they are right... Ghingis Khan was a great guy... if you were a Hun... sacking was up, pillaging was at an all time high... the people getting sacked, on the other hand, were of a differing opinion.

Star Wars roughly mimics several real world events... the rise and fall of the Roman empire though the corruption of the Senate, the rise of the Nazi party in Germany... events and situations that allow for a dictator to rise, not over the objection of the people but with their full support.

If you look at Germany following the first World War, it was literally starving under the treaty limitations that were placed on it. All power was centralized in Hitler's hands, and his word was above all laws, but there were others in "the ruling council" who supported him in order to further their own agenda. Some of the things, the truly evil things, that were done under his regime were done for no reason other than convenience. The ovens in which thousands were killed were conceived when the psychological damage on the German soldiers from putting actual bullets in to actual heads started taking a toll on the soldiers, and they needed a more efficient and humane way of executing mass numbers of people... and note, the humane side of it was humanity for the executioners, not those being killed... the method of execution, one of the worst atrocities of modern times, was done for the good of their people... evil must think it is right...

Not sure if anyone saw this, but Mark Hamill posted this to his Instagram about a week ago..

 

Oh my... I had to go smoke a ciggie and get a cup before responding... G@BRIELGR@Y is notorious for spoilers... most recently he has been spoiling Terminator 5 and Star Wars... very recently, I posted a conversation he had with Jason over at MSW, and (if you go to my post) while the original post from the G@BRIELGR@Y account is gone (in which he was talking about an image he was looking at of Mark Hamill) the conversation was cut and paste, and is still visible (under the spoiler tag). Clearly, from the conversation, they are discussing the Warlord, and the reasons this character becomes the Warlord are due to the death of a family member, but the post began with the reference to Mark Hamill, clearly giving weight to Luke being the Warlord.

Who, among the all the people he has pissed off with his spoilers, he finally pissed off enough to get his twitter account deleted, and what post finally put it over the top, is unknown... the list is long on suspects

The thinker... kewl... instagram is an interesting place to pick things up, like the fact that Hamill posted the following comment on 26 Oct

We should write a list of everyone's theories. A checklist I suppose. We should designate people to keep score to see who had the most correct points lol.

Jason makes some good points, in that right now I can make any hog-wild theory and claim I have seen the script. If something surfaces which irrefutably disproves my theory, I can always claim it was the Ardnt draft I saw...

Within can mean less than three weeks.

 

If they aren't done shooting just yet, I think they're DEFINITELY shooting an ending scene with a 'normal/less dark/less revengeful' Luke.

 

Yeah, if he was filmed with a beard for a ton of scenes...wouldn't they want him to leave it on somewhat? Or maybe he's only in the film very little and the beard scenes are good enough and JJ gave him the go ahead to take it off.

What I'm getting at is I think he might be done and he is cleaned shaved "old school Luke" at the end. Would totally prove the "held captive for 10 plus years" theories.

Obviously he took a pic by the pinewood sign on purpose. I think he's saying it's not done. Plus I think he or the website would announce if he was done.

 

If they were done shooting, he wouldn't still be at Pinewood

 

Never know, he could be hanging around for some reason.

Yeah... and again, everyone seems to be quoting off the same posts. We don't know anything beyond the fact that Williams has received the trailer, he is recording new music on Nov 15, and it should be ready shortly thereafter. WHEN it hits the theaters is anyone's guess....

 

Obviously that's pure speculation, I don't think it would be attached to Into the Woods for several reasons.

1- Fan base doesn't mesh
2- Into the woods doesn't need the boost from a Star Wars trailer
3- Other films need said boost
