I think it's a possibility that we could get the full trailer at comic-con, but...I think we get OTHER reveals there for The Force Awakens. For instance, Maz Kanata or something in that wheelhouse. Maybe more still shots. Maybe Adam Driver shows up and says a few words...something to that effect.

Something to consider...is 9/4/15...Force Friday. They will want a trailer by that day because that's when marketing for the film goes from a 2 to 11. Whatever is going to be associated with all the products for the film will no doubt be shown in all the trailers.

What event is a few weeks before Force Friday?...D23.

IMO...I think the actual FULL TRAILER for The Force Awakens is coming to us via D23 to kick off the marketing push of the film. Through the release of the trailer and the hype that it WIL NO DOUBT cause...they will use that to piggyback into Force Friday. I think that would be a brilliant marketing move because that way it's fresh in EVERYONE's minds...not just the hardcore fans like us.

Granted...I hope I'm wrong and we get it much sooner like at SDCC so Disney can put it in front of Ant-Man. I just don't see that happening right now.

Marvel Studios isn't doing a huge panel there - at best, you're going to hear about some of their TV projects, and maybe who they've cast as the new Spider-Man (presuming they haven't revealed that already). They're going to wait until D23 to reveal information on Phase 3.

She is "alien", everyone in the movie is alien. None of them come from Earth, remember:D. But if you mean non-human looking, what makes you think that?

In Heir to the Jedi, Luke says the word humans. In this galaxy far far away they are just not Earthlings but could be "humans"

Of course they are human, but alien human. The world "alien" just mean that they are not native to a place. Just like if you were to go to another country you would be an alien to that country. If you were to do a DNA analyses on someone from the Star Wars Universe you would not be able to trace them to any place on Earth. What I was more interested to know is how does Sana look like a non-human alien, if that is what was meant when it was said that she looks alien.

I would argue that calling the characters in the Star Wars universe "humans" is a mislabel, because human is a species that uniquely evolved on Earth. I would say that they should be referred to as humanoids, that they look like humans, but that they did not originate from Earth. I know that I am being too real toward a fantasy world, but I was just thinking about it.

So is this proof that Chloe Bruce, Daisy Ridley's stunt double, went to Iceland for pickup shots 2 months ago?

Again, I should note that the Marvel Studios presence at the San Diego Comic Con will be much, much smaller than it usually is - most likely because they've already revealed their entire slate of MCU Phase 3 films in October 2014 and February 2015, and because Warner Brothers is going to come out, guns blazing with their DCCU line-up (which I suspect is expanded upon, given that Shazam is getting a release date before 2019). Marvel will still be there, it's just that they'll most likely talk a bit about their comics (All New, All-Different Marvel), along with the Netflix and television stuff they have stuff to show for (Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., Agent Carter, Daredevil, and AKA, Jessica Jones). They're going to save Marvel's big guns for D23, by which point they could even have a teaser for Captain America: Civil War ready.

Given that Disney has sadly put Tron: Ascension on the backburner indefinitely, the only other nerd-cred property that they have for the event would have to be Star Wars. In fact, they have already stated that Hasbro is revealing new Star Wars toys there (and it is highly likely that many of these toys will be tied to The Force Awakens)! Rebels is probably going to be extensively featured as well, along with the comics. Star Wars: The Force Awakens is Disney's only film that they'd be able to hype at SDCC, and the best way to do that is with footage. Yes, there will be some kind of a conference there, but "Lupita Nyong'o plays a bug-eyed alien dwarf in The Force Awakens; Kylo Ren's angst about living up to Darth Vader" isn't as appealing a headline as "The Force Awakens trailer brings down the house". As a major corporation that had recently made a huge financial transaction, ask yourself - which headline is going to make you more money?

Aside from all that, Ant-Man will need something like a new Star Wars trailer to get a really good opening weekend. While D23 is important, and they will reveal new information there, it won't have nearly as much focus in the media compared to SDCC. Disney isn't going to waste the kind of an opportunity that SDCC presents if they aren't going to talk too much about the other huge property that they own at that time.

5 to 6 months before the opening is the normal time frame for a big blockbuster movie's first full trailer. That would make comic con the best choice. Full trailer at comic con, BTS stuff at D23 expo and first tv spots, toys and stuff in september
