I feel like I'll at least enjoy The Hobbit. I loved LOTR and liked both previous Hobbit things. So I'll probably stay. I mean I'll consider it at least. If there is something else going on then I might leave. Like maybe the Carolina Hurricanes have a home game, I might go to that instead.

But the games usually drop puck at 7 so it will depend on when the movie starts.

Okay, if the movie starts at 6 and TFA trailer is one of the first and I can still get across town to the arena, then I'll leave and go to the hockey game. Unless they are playing Buffalo. If it's Buffalo I'll probably stay for The Hobbit as their road fans are total wads.

I have no problem with Canadian fans, just Buffalo and Pittsburgh. I'll stay if not Buffalo or Pittsburgh, and leave and go to the game if not.

Or if I have like a ton to do around the house. I might leave if that is the case too. I have a ton to do, who am I kidding. I always do. So most likely I will watch the trailer, leave after that, and do my stuff around the house. Or I might watch the first few minutes of El Hobbito and make up my mind then. If it looks good, we stay, if not, we bail.

There is an off chance that my kids will be in town since it's near the holidays, so if they are here, I may let them decide, but hockey.....I mean it's a draw bro. They like hockey, I like hockey, the 'Canes may be in town, I mean.......ehhhhhhh.

But the trailer, yeah. I'll see that at least.

It will leak online well before The Hobbit. That's my point.

Max Von Sydow sans costume. Thank you but 'no'.

I'll witness my 'gnarly looking not-dressed dude' like God intended. In the mirror in the morning.

My guess is they will debut it on the official site. They seem to just so far do things out of the blue like with the subtitle, unlike GL did and tell us every detail.

I don't think it will be attached to any movie at all.

I think it would be great if Andy Serkis plays a bad guy. He's got a lot of presence.

I have so many questions about the cast, it's really curious to me trying to figure out what these characters might be

i wouldn't be surprised if Disney attaches the trailer to the final episode in the Rebels short season. it'd be a damn good way to get their ratings up in November, which is when (from what i've been read) ratings are usually measured.

I liked Oscar Isaac from the moment I saw him play Prince John in Ridley Scott's "Robin Hood", a VERY underrated movie in my opinion and a great performance by him.

I would assume there would need to be at least a week's time to hype the trailer for a Thanksgiving day release.
I'm guessing It would be an online release since ABC (Disney) Doesn't have anything with a large or appropriate audience for Star Wars on Thanksgiving, and The Jurassic World trailer, that has been hyped for the last few days will most likely air on NBC (Universal).
Last time Marvel (Disney) tried to hype up a trailer release, they did so exactly a week in advance.

Based on the timing of the tweet, maybe we're due for an announcement in a couple hours?
Edit: Having trouble embedding the tweet. What am I doing wrong?

Let's think about this tweet from a marketing point of view.

Advertising costs money. Lots of money. If you produced The Hobbit and wanted every Star Wars fan to come to the opening weekend premiere you could buy up a bunch of advertising during Star Wars: Rebels . It would cost millions.

Or you could drop a tweet hinting that a Star Wars teaser trailer will be shown in theaters during The Hobbit premiere. Cost: Free.

Then, to make the tweet seem more authentic, delete it and the account it was tweeted from. That way it looks like J. J. and crew are trying to stop the information from getting out, thus making the information even more juicy. Cost: Free.

One tweet later there's a few hundred thousand Star Wars fans buying tickets to The Hobbit in anticipation of seeing a teaser trailer. That's cost effective advertising.

Now I'm not saying this is what's happening. I have no idea what's happening, honestly. But it wouldn't surprise me to see "leaks" like this over and over for the next 7 or 8 months. Not only would it build ridiculous levels of excitement for the actual trailer premiere, but it would translate to millions of dollars in ticket sales to other Disney related movies and television shows. We might not see an actual teaser trailer until August.

Darth Disney didn't get rich by accident.

It is very cost effective, but one would think Disney would apply that strategy to one of their own films instead of the Hobbit. Star Wars is guaranteed to bring in massive profits. Disney would have no problem spending money marketing the film when they know they're going to make it all back. While I agree with your point about cost effective advertising, I do not think they enact that strategy unless the trailer was attached to a Disney film
