I'm somewhat dreading what may happen. I predict, personally, that things will end on a dangerous cliffhanger, somewhat like Empire Strikes Back but darker. I think Mando will get rescued at the beginning of Season 4 - which at least gives us a Season 4 for certain. Or, as some people have predicted, Dinn Jarin gets his ticket punched and someone else steps in as the series lead.

    We'll see.

    Well, season 3 is over.

The word for this chapter is: TENSION.
You don't know till the end who could die, and there are multiple characters in this game. I was expecting the death of Din, Grogu, Bo, Axe, but never the death of the darksaber.

Great fight scenes everywhere and editing mixing all fronts.

Maybe a rushed end and Gideon storyline but the show could already end here as well, like season 2. Everyone is in their place. But we can clearly say season 4 will take a very different direction.

    R5 for the win.
    Grogu for the win.

Maybe is just me but in the Republic bar, watching a IG head, I heard Grogu say: "Dad, can we get back?".

Rick and Filoni are all day at the bar...

From last episode, the simplest answer sometimes is the correct. The spies were Kane, Gideon and maybe the shadow council gathering in secret to get all personal purposes.

At one point I thought the story could take some risk and being original with Gideon killing Bo and taking the darksaber. But at the end we got the classic resolution.

No post credits scenes. No death surprises. No unexpected appearances. Time to Thrawn, First Order and Emperor to rule and shine I guess.

If people wanted Din and Grogu, here they will have Din and Grogu. Like father and son.

    The End.

That was a great way to wrap up the season. I need to watch it again before I can comment in detail - only disappointment was no appearance of Thrawn. Then again, we know he's coming so it's not a big let-down.

When Lady Kryse's fortress was bombed, some speculated that it was THRAWN, now we finally know it was Gideon all along, Gideon requesting more, from the secret council, yet again from episode 7.

AnyWho, why would Dave and Jon blow their respective loads by unleashing Thrawn in season 3 of Mando?

Doesn't make any sense to me... at all.

Same as this season, we all waited for Gideon, where is Moff Gideon? ...he shows up in the last 2 episodes.

I think Thrawn will be kept hidden as well in the Ahsoka's series till the very end of the season, or unleashed when needed in terms of the story ...just speculation, no concrete evidence to back this up with.

Great episode, so Gideon has clones, were they all destroyed? ...SOMEHOW MOFF GIDEON RETURNS ...hehe.

I will watch the entire series from the start as I did for Andor... looking forward to Ahsoka in August since I'm a fan of REBELS.

The Acolyte's leaked footage with the martial arts, really showcase the Jedi arts which I'm a fan of, I think was made for fans like me... hehe, anyway, can't wait for that as well.

I was so happy that all major Mandalorian players lived and that none of them were turncoats. Everyone got a moment or a scene to shine.

Of course, Gideon is just a megalomaniac who wants to live forever and take the things that don't belong to him. Force? Don't make me laugh. I loved that Grogu was active part of his final defeat.

I am happy that the next season we'll once again have dad and his son (now officially!) on the (space) road together, hunting imperial scum. :D

More about this later when the things settle and I re-watch the episode.

Wow. So much to discuss. Was that Dave Filoni in a cameo at the bar?

I'm relieved that this didn't end on a cliffhanger. Plus, they kept the story smaller this season. It would have been dangerous to have "insert this hero at the end" again. The season wasn't perfect (none of them are) but the highs of this series can't be denied. There were several memorable episodes and moments this season, long may it continue.
I believe he was in the previous scene in at that bar as well. Just a little further off camera.

Me too. The ending was perfect. As unique as Season 3 was, I'm all for returning to formula again with Season 4.

They teased us all with the chapter title "The Return" and I expected a post-credits scene but that said, no complaints here. It was a fun episode.

I loved R5's scenes and the return of IG11 is welcomed. If you can bring back villains from the dead on a regular basis (psst, Moff didn't die), you darn well should a major league fan favorite too.

    This is the Way!

So, I wonder where we go from here for S4? This almost felt like a series finale instead of a season finale. Are they really going to try and find Gorgu's parents?

    Here my previous contribution

Yep. I think they have softened (and rushed) the end. Agreed if a major hero would have been too much but a little more epic or risky points could have been great though. Someone riding the Mythosaur, the death of a major character... But I really liked all the fights and the tension built.

Also, I was never overwhelmed by Mandalorian fleet. It was literally 1 big ship and 10 Kom'rk-class fighter/transport, I was expecting a huge space battle but without little ships to attack, the "fleet thing" was quite pointless since the begining. I thought little ships could appear from inside the big one but was not the case.

Agreed. Season 2 set the bar too high but this season also had great episodes and moments.
I guess next season will tie more with Ahsoka and Filoni movie, clone/Force thing Bad Batch and ST, with the Republic in the background and Din working for them. Maybe "The Dins" will find how FO is rising while doing minor missions through the galaxy.

Of course I want another season.
I would not return to Nevaro (the city gives me Boba Fett vibes with the sets, costumes and extras) but "The Dins" have a house there, so...
Also think Bo, The Armorer, rebuilt Mandalore and other stuff will have very minor plots.

PD it was "curious" to see a Stone pine, a very mediterranean tree in front of Din's house
PD2 and a jet pack to the atmosphere, it's Star Wars XD

Perhaps, we haven't really seen how they're going to tie these series into a film. I assume it's Thrawn. Or maybe it's the threat facing the Chiss? I guess we'll have a better idea after Ahsoka. There's a lot riding on that series to work for this entire project to work.
Now that's Din Grogu has been adopted formally I doubt he they look for his parents. Plus, I think Lucasfilm would like to keep the origins of that species a mystery.

I suspect we see some more adventures with Boba Fett/Cobb Vanth and some ties with what's cooking in Ahsoka/Skeleton Crew.

I'm happy that people really liked this one! Gives me a warm feeling :)

Personally, I found it very fight'y with not much going on beside the action; the droids were good, though, and Grogu was particularly charming in this one :D

Interesting that Gideon's project was to clone "upgraded" versions of himself, but unless he and some of his clones somehow survives to wreck havoc down the road, the entire secret cloning arc will have been for nothing. Oh well

This episode concludes not only the season, but in a way the entire series; Gideon has been defeated, Grogu has finally become the Mandarorian, and Mandalore has been retaken. Yes, I am aware that there's a season 4 coming, but that will be a new start, and will probably function as a stepping stone towards setting up Filoni's "epic plotlines culmination" film. It would, however, be very cool if we got some cool standalone master-&-journeyman-bounty-hunters-out-fixing-some-stuff-for-the-New-Republic episodes, before the plot catches up with Din Djarin & Grogu; time will tell

I'm glad Favreau chose to tie off everything and start anew from scratch. Ending things grounds the stories overall. Cool stuff.

Funny fact: a part of the fandom is in a tizzy because "Din" just might be his family name, lol. As if real-world western naming conventions are be-all and end-all. I am sure Favreau will have some wacky explanation. :D

That being said, Grogu and Din fighting for each other and together was phenomenal. Their respective noes were heartbreaking. And the final scene was perfect. Din deserved a little peace. And Grogu all the frogs.
