I'm glad that the merch leaks have finally put to rest the idea that Kylo Ren is some kind of wannbe Sith. The back of his figure box says that he's strong in the Force. Why would they market the crap out of KR as the new Vader, only to have him be a fraud?

Also, check out the lightsaber ... looks like there's def a defense against having the side emitters hacked off))

I've been trying to refrain from reading spoilers/leaks for the past month or two, but this week has been so huge I simply couldn't miss it. I don't know if this has been said before, but I find the 3.75" TFA figures atrocious.

To back up my point, here's the evolution of SW action figures

    GE80089lg.jpg
1978: 5 POA (Points Of Articulation)

    star-wars-power-of-the-force-action-figure.jpg
1999: still 5POA, yet better looking, more accurate figures

    51hiNIAnytL._SY300_.jpg
2002: 5POA, much better paint apps, far more accurate sculpts, removable helmets, improving POA

    abfea976-21dc-433c-a34b-dfc7ef8edd07.jpg
2005: although sometimes still a little flimsy, super articulation is now present on most action figures. Paint apps look good.

    51287fAfd2L.jpeg
2007–2011: Super articulation everywhere, perfect posability, great sculpts, great lineups. HEAVEN. (Vintage Collection, Saga Legends, Legacy Collection)

2014–2015, the dreaded years. Back to 5POA. Atrocious paint apps. Sloppy sculpts. No removable helmets. Same retail price. Visible articulation.
    TFA-1-404x299.jpg

It appears Disney/Hasbro are "downgrading" the 3.75 scale to better match the youth's demand. A quick glance at those atrocious accessories screams "kids will dig them". I fear The Mission Series introduced last years will now include every single 3.75 figure/vehicles, with the 6" Black Series aimed at older fans. Problem is, even the 6" BS doesn't look great (Rey is a huge miss for me, Chewbacca illustrates Hasbro's lack of balls given it's just a kit bash).

Anyways, sorry if considered off topic or even pessimistic, but I just had to scream my desperation somewhere.

The problem is that nothing in the art or images shows the same thing the figure shows. It will be great and make sense if the toy is accurate. It may be the toy is accurate and the effects aren't finished on images we have been shown but I don't buy that. I think this is a "fix" after fans said how worthless the cross guard is because a lightsaber would just sheer it off and now they are going to go back in and edit the saber to account for the silly cross guard. Also, you have now made the blade that much more unstable. It appears only the black series has the "defense" too not the standard figure.

I think we will see the GI Joe snow speeder in the move too since there is a Lego version of it.

I was under the impression the New Order wasn't that strong. Maybe they are not that strong against the "Republic" but against the resistance they are? I'm not sure how much I like the political aspect of this movie. It seems like they are going to be as many as 4 factions in this movie: the "Republic", the New Order, Knights of Ren, and the Resistance.

Good point, one I had considered. The toy could just be flat out wrong.

That is interesting. Have they created the resistance to make the good guys the underdogs again? It seems like another example of TFA trying to follow all of the Episode 4 beats.

    No, it's not just you.
But then, I like my toys to look like the toys that I played with when I was young (IE the 1978-1985 Kenner toys).
Because *whisper* that was when I was young and actually played with toys.
I think people sometimes forget that these are actually toys for kids to play with and not little sculptures for adults to collect and photograph in cool poses...

Even when the 90s POTF figures came out, I remember thinking they had just turned everyone into musclebound freaks for no apparent reason. I didn't care that they were more "detailed" and had better paint jobs it just didn't seem appropriate for Star Wars to me.

Agree with the guy up above. These are toys, sure they are collected but over all that are made for kids. I see the Black Series as more of the adult collectors but these little one, let them look like toys. I grow up on old kenner star wars when greedo had a green jumpsuit, luke had a yellow saber, and hammerhead was named hammerhead. Thats how it should be. or maybe i am just an old fart

Yup', I think this one pretty much confirms the rumor that has been flying around for a little less than a year. Chewie's face though... It'll be tough going to sleep on December 18th...

    This is my favourite...

On the surface the Millenium Falcon looks like a worn down junker. I see people (not here) act like Han has to be dead if Rey is in the cockpit falcon and not han. Are they forgetting that Leia and Chewie are seen flying the falcon is ANH and ESB? Han could be on the guns, or taken by the First Order or someone

I find the language on the Falcon interesting. It says "owners" not owner not Han but owners. Han said in ANH I've made modifications to her. I know it could mean Chewbacca and lando but it could mean Rey too. Odd and cryptic language.
