    Her CV states

    There's also dialect coaches.

So meanwhile we wait to find out if its her native accent or not.

I did see on IMDB that there were a couple dialect coaches on the crew but that could have been for anyone. I did ask her once on Twitter if she had a "home or an away accent" but didn't get a reply.

My mother is an actress. Learning dialects/accents is just part of the job. It's expected. They can all pretty much do it.

Why would she need to speak with an accent at all?

Is Kira a junker? If so, do you think maybe she might have Luke's old lightsaber and that's what the Stormtroopers and bad guy relic collector are looking for? Boyega is a Jedi spy and defects when he gets to the planet to warn Kira and protect her? Kira doesn't know Boyega but he was sent by Leia to save her? Kira doesn't know she's a Jedi? Sorry on a tangent...

Okay, so the latest MakingStarWars report got me thinking, and kind of reassessing what we know and have seen so far.

Recently, I had begun to question the role of this vessel (in the background, on the left) glimpsed briefly in the teaser trailer, and featured in the MSW report above:
    vlcsnap-2014-11-28-23h52m45s116.png
We have also seen the same design in the following concept art:
    L8SNP4.jpg BeqrH9.jpg QC9mWZ.jpg RF4oIf.jpg

Now, I'm not claiming to come up with any answers here - in fact I'm probably just sifting through all this and posing more questions than anything else.
The fact is, most of what we know so far seems to be focused on the desert location - we'll call it Tatooine for now, at this stage it is irrelevant if it turns out it is a different desert planet.
A lot of this action also seems to centre on Daisy Ridley's character and what happens in the first act of the movie, hence me posting this in this thread.

The first of those pieces of concept art above is clearly one of the sequence of pictures mentioned in the MSW report above, understood to be depicting a high-speed chase with Ridley in the smaller speeder in pursuit of the larger, four-engined vehicle. There are variations on the design of the larger vessel mentioned in the report.
I had always presumed this piece of art was a variation on that design:
    6hgweK.jpg
But discussion in another thread earlier today reminded me of this description of a possible new U-Wing fighter, and how the concept may be more representative of that.
However, after reading the MSW report on the chase, I've reverted back to believing it to be a variation on the four-engined craft:
It is flying low over a desert planet. It has the same B-52 style cockpit. It looks like there could be smoke billowing from the engine. The two top engines look like they have been adapted from the X-Wing designs (not sure how relevant that is to the overall plot and the "X-Wing recovery" concept art, or whether it is just a design motif, but the X-Wing thing is mentioned in MSW's report, so I'd say it is relevant in connecting the two). And it also seems to have some kind of tow cables attached to it, which may be consistent with the described pursuit and the speeder's attempts to "catch up with" it and "dock".

    So, what is my point?
Well, I'm not entirely sure... but the four-engined vehicle is "real" because we have seen it in the teaser.
Kira's "bike-style" speeder is "real", because we have seen that in the teaser too.
    vlcsnap-2014-11-29-00h22m36s250.png
And so too, we must presume, is the more traditional landspeeder type vehicle, in so much as it was seen in the TMZ leaks.
    hdAcHqI.jpg

The four-engined craft is seen in a location consistent with areas of the TMZ "bid station" set, with (what we presume is) Kira's droid rushing past it.
Kira's landspeeder is also at that same set.
And we know for sure that Kira arrives at (or leaves) the "bid station" location on her "bike" speeder at some point. And we can also speculate that there is probably more than one scene featuring this vehicle, because of the teaser shots with and without the staff attached to the front of it.

I am finding it hard to justify all three of those vehicles belonging to her and being present at the same location at (we must presume, at least roughly) the same time.

There are many many options to consider, and I'm not sure which is most appealing.
Is the larger craft stolen from her, and she grabs the landspeeder to pursue it? Is the "bid station" actually some kind of repair yard? - that might explain the scaffolding on the Falcon in one of the other concepts of this location, and would justify the four-engined craft being there already despite Kira arriving on a speeder.

Regardless, I find myself going back to the "fallen AT-AT" concepts.
The four-engined craft is there, it appears to be being hidden. And Kira's landspeeder is there too.
My question is this: If this is her "home" is there enough time at the start of this movie for Kira to get a large vessel from the AT-AT location to the TMZ location... then in a landspeeder make the same journey... and then for that journey to be made a third time in yet another speeder?
Or is it more likely the fallen AT-AT is the location she has tracked the larger vehicle to, and the bid station is actually where she works and lives?
Or has the Imperial junkyard thing been dropped altogether?
I mean, what made us think that was Kira's home - what made us think she was a junker... was it anything more than those concepts?

Something about it just doesn't add up for me at the moment...

Viral's source looks correct on this. 'Kira' was a production name.

Some of these threads could use a renaming...

I have a list with the bits from this source. They're nothing ground breaking in terms of story. There are 14 bits. So far he's been right for 7. The other 7 are not debunked but still not revealed. :)

So the going theory is Rey is an alias and she will later be revealed as (Unknown) Solo. Sounds great to me but I actually love the name Rey.

Rey Solo for sure. Rey is probably short for "Reychel" or something.

Since the Star Wars saga is mainly about the Skywalkers I wouldn't mind this new trilogy to do the same. I believe that it is inevitable for us to see a descendant of the Skywalkers pop us as one of the new leads. Rey Solo would fit that bill perfectly but, I don't know, Rey Skywalker sounds so much better.

Luke hiding his daughter on Tatooine to prevent whatever calamity that will be at the heart of this new story sounds plausible, no?
Besides, a female lead Jedi out to save the galaxy would be all kinds of 'cool'.

That's the way I see it. The Star Wars Movies that are numbered from 1-9 are the story of 3 generations of Skywalkers, and that appeals to a certain fanbase (I am one of them). Then you have spinoffs, cartoons, EU books, many that deal with other characters, other time periods, etc, as those appeal to another fanbase (I am not one of them).

Someone here on the site pointed out that Rey has a similar story start to Niomi Sunrider from the EU; ei scrounging for junked parts.

Rey Sunrider or Rey as the nickname for Niomi Sunrider?

I wonder if they came up with her character's name by playing around with her last name?

    Ridley minus idl = Rey

Just a thought. I'm probably wrong.

I don't think that Rey being a Solo makes much sense. I think her being a Skywalker does, however. I agree that she looks more like Leia/Padme but...

Assuming that she's the child of Han and Leia (And not some other pairing, since there are rumors that Han and Leia are no longer together) why would they leave her with some cyborg with borderline dementia? It doesn't seem in character for either one of them. I know there's the rumor of Inquisitors or whatever hunting down possible Jedi, but Leia seems like the type of person who would want to protect her daughter on her own terms, not exile her to the outer rim. Leia is a strong woman, and unless Leia/Han/Luke told some people that Leia was the daughter of Vader, nobody should know she has a Jedi legacy. And even if they did tell people her Jedi legacy, why would they hide Rey and not have her mother with her?

It would make much more sense if Rey was Luke's daughter, especially based on the rumors. He's gone all hermit mode, and I could see him thinking Tatooine would be the best place to hide his daughter while he... meditated or whatever is going on with him. Rey's mother would have to be a completely new character, no idea who that could be... that would likely be a good plot point for the rumored flashbacks and such.
