Guardians is the best movie of 2014. I don't care what movies are still to come, nothing will top it. I know the Hobbit 3 is coming in Dec. but I already know what happens. (I read the book.) I know that Hunger Games is out in Nov., but although it should be good, it is a Part 1. Most of the action will be in Part 2. Guardians will not be recognized at the Oscars, unless you are at the technical awards the night before. It should be nominated for Best Picture, but the day a Marvel movie is given that honor the Earth will no longer exist.

Favorite movies from blockbuster season 2014, in order are:
    -Godzilla
    -Edge of Tomorrow
    -Captain America 2

I thought these three were great. While obviously big-budget blockbusters, they were inventive, had great, suprising stories, excellent cinematography to go along with excellent special effects.

Ones I wanted to like but quite get into:
-X-Men Days of future past-I really liked first class, and about the only thing I didn't like about it was a lack of wolverine (i'm really into wolverine) so I thought this was going to be great. sadly I found it kind of boring except for a couple of nice set pieces early on. It was lamer than Star Trek: Generations, which is a film with a similar concept, which is also kind of lame, but not as lame as this one.

-Gaurdians of the Galaxy-I'd chalk up my distaste for this one to being kind of getting played out of the MCU, but like I said, I liked Captain America 2 alot. I can't quite put my finger on why I liked Captain America 2 more, its just a gut feeling. I did like this movie, just not as much as I expected too/as much as other people did

    Ones I did not like:
Transformers 4 - I'm a fan of the first couple, but this series is played out. I saw it one day when I wanted to see Edge of Tomorrow, but there wasn't a showing of that at a convenient time, so I went to transformers instead. It was crazy boring.

I should have gone to planet of the Apes. I really liked the first (new) one, but haven't had a chance to see the (second) new one yet.

BUT I still have a bunch of the other movies still to see IF I ever get the time.
