    The time is upon us game-watchers... NFL is back from Friday!

    For those new to the game you simply choose Star Wars inspired NFL teams that will win each weekend's matchups and at the end of the season, the player with the most points will be our winner :cool:

    Having won two seasons on the bounce before being dethroned by @Capt. Andrew Luck in 2020, our man on the ground @Alamact regained his title last time around! So, the question is who has the nerve and skills to challenge him this season?

    As usual, buy-in to play this season is a one-time 100 credit payment to our resident barkeep and arbiter of Cantina gaming @Wuher with the note: STAR WARS PICK 'EM IX and drop your name in the thread below to let us know you're onboard!

    Premise:
    During the regular season, we pick 7 pre-set matchups weekly from the NFL's 2022-23 schedule. At the end of the regular season we will move on to playoffs and eventually the Super Bowl.

    When we get to the playoffs we up the ante and make games worth more, with a slightly different format. For the Super Bowl the odds raise again to include bonus prop bets.

    Check out last year's thread to see how it works if you want to get into the specifics!

    All are welcome to join! It doesn't matter whether you are a newcomer or an avid fan, anything can happen in this game!

    The person who has the most points following the Super Bowl will win a 1000 credit pot and get the one-of-a-kind PICK 'EM IX game ball trophy added to their profile to flaunt to their fellow Cantinians!

    Rules:
    Regular Season:
    • Players choose the winner of 7 pre-set match ups; each week we will pick the primetime games (Thursday Night, Sunday Night, and Monday Night) as well as 4 games from the early schedule on Sunday that look to be the most intriguing / closest match ups.
    • Games will be picked at the start of each week and posted in this thread.
    • Please be sure to submit your picks before each game begins. Since we will always be picking the Thursday games, I suggest to have all your picks in by the start of that game (Thursday 8:30 PM EST). If you're an indecisive type, you're more than welcome to change your picks of the other games at any time provided you do so before they begin. (We can see when and how a post is edited, so no cheating please!)
    • Each winning pick is worth 1 point. Pick all 7 games correctly and you get 7 points for the week. Pick 5 and you get 5, etc. Picking incorrectly does not count against you.
    Playoffs:
    • Same premise; pick the winner of each game.
    • Additionally, assign a confidence point value to each pick; in a week where there are 4 games to choose from, you would designate your most confident pick with 4, then 3, 2, and 1 accordingly. (A perfect week is worth 10 points in total)
    • Conference Championship picks are worth 15 points each.
    Super Bowl:
    • The pick your winner (worth 25 points).
    • In the event of a tie, the player choosing the final score that is closest to the actual score will determine the winner.
    • Submit prop bets which are then add bonuses to create your final score. (Each correct bet worth a 0.5 bonus)

    The Standings will be updated weekly (usually on a Tuesday).

    Yeah I understand, totally my fault! Lost track of days here in the Snow househould.
