I watched the section where the falcon goes to Maz and had a view more realizations:

    1. Why not leave bb-8 on the falcon? Is taking it into there the equivalent of driving a boosted custom car through sturgus?

    2. Maz has been around for 1,000 years, yet the only evil she references are the sith, the empire, and the first order. Not even 100 years of history. Why not something previous? I doubt everything was peachy before hand

    3. Kylo is a fanboy of evil. I remember early on hearing rumors of him being a rich collector that dabbled in sith artifacts. Perhaps that scene is a reminant of that, before he was written as a solo. But his "I feel pulled to light, help me grandfather ", and then he kills his father....that dude is disturbed! I don't subscribe to his redemption, he's beyond that for me, but that scene certainly supports that theory

    4. Why does the resistance show up? Were they already on their way? 5 planets were just destroyed, they didn't see/know that? Wouldn't any potential diplomatic survivors take priority over breaking up a bar fight?

    Anyways, enjoy

Well, "the Sith" is a pretty broad term that covers up most of pre-Episode I history of evil. In canon, around 1,000 years before action of the films there was a huge Jedi-Sith war that was won by the Jedi na we know both of these factions existed before, so I don't see any problem with that statement.

I'm pretty sure he was a member of the Skywalker family from the very beginning. Kylo is definitely confused and I'm sure events of The Last Jedi will make him even more torn apart. However, I don't think he will be redeemed. Instead, he'll just get crazier and crazier.

Do you remember the droid with a retro microphone installed as his mouth (he's called GA-97?) Well, he informed the Resistance that BB-8 is on Takodana, just like Bazine Netal informed the First Order. It was even shown during the film. ;)

    1. No response to #1?

I'm not as sure, but I hope he does get crazier

Yeah, I remember, but that doesn't answer my question. Retrieving bb-8 is more important than checking for survivors? And what about the timing?

Because I agree with you on that one. Someone could have stayed with BB-8 on the Falcon, so that no one discovers the droid.

Well, on D'Qar, before their assault on the Starkiller base, we see them talking about the destruction of the Hosnian system, so it's safe to assume that the Resistance sent someone to check what happened. And what do you mean by the timing?

I hadn't considered two squads to two different places...so maybe. And by timing I mean FO shows up at Maz's for like ten minutes and then the resistance is right there. I would think looking for survivors of the 5 planets would be priority over going to maz's, but again, I hadn't considered 2 squads. Perhaps the resistance has more resources than I give them credit for.

Maybe they realized the chances of there being survivors after the planets were literally blown to bits was hopeless. And remember this is the RESISTANCE, not the Republic, which means it is led by Leia, who's main goal at the moment is to find Luke before the FO, so her priority would be BB-8 as well.

Exactly. Plus, given the timing we see in the movie, I'd expect that the Resistance ships were probably already in transit to Takodana when Hosnian Prime was destroyed.
