if the whole of TFA had been like the first 40 minutes, then my choice would have been that.

ftw.. the other 9 SW movies are equal second :D

For me, it was pretty tight between "Rogue One" and "Solo" . . . but I have to give a few more points to "Rogue One".

    this is my daily battle.
in the end i think it will just end up like Nolan's TDK for me:
i'll just think of the ST as one giant film. XD

This is tough as they all have highs & lows I would say TLJ over TFA just as the best of TLJ is IMO better then all but Rey’s intro from TFA (This is still probably my favourite intro scene from m all the new SW).

& I would put SOLO over R1 again it’s a very close call I just found overall SOLO a more enjoyable film but that last act from R1 (From when the R1 crew leaves Yavin is why this is such a close call.

I've enjoyed Rogue One the most since I really enjoyed the whole boots on the ground combat aspect to it as well as the space combat (huge TIE fighter fan so always love when they're in the movies doing some type of dogfighting ). I'd rate this as a 7.5/10

Solo I left the theater smiling after watching it the first time which I hadn't done with any of the other movies so far aside from The Force Awakens, but that was because it was just Star Wars being back in theaters. The movie was still a bit slow for me in some parts and that hasn't changed for me when I've seen in additional times. Overall just a fun movie with a lot of nice nods to other material (Clone Wars, EU, etc...) that were fun to see/hear. I'd rate this as a 7/10

I enjoyed the The Force Awakens overall and felt it was a good jumping off point for the sequel trilogy. I'd rate this as a 6/10

The Last Jedi has been the film I've enjoyed the least and the only one I left the theater in not the best mood. I've seen it several times now and it has grown on me a little bit, but I still don't love it and think the Canto Bight scene really slows down the pace of the film and adds a lot of filler that wasn't all that impactful to me. I don't have an issue so much with how Luke was treated, but I do wonder what it would have been like if he had been handled differently/ was still around at the end of the film. I'd rate this as a 4/10.

I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how this trilogy is concluded and to see if there are things that were set up in the force awakens and sort of ignored or disregarded by Rian Johnson and the direction he took in the last jedi the JJ may readdress now that he is back at the helm for episode 9.

TLJ without a doubt. I like them all very much, though.

I'm not sure which of the 4 would get the bottom spot. In a way, TFA was the most disappointing. I mean, don't get me wrong, I enjoy watching it a lot, but I don't feel like it gave me enough. I was very intrigued by the new elements, but they were pushed aside for the sake of blatant rehashes. We've waited so long and fantasised so much about something that turned out to be pretty much the same thing we already have. I also wish it wasn't as safe in terms of the overall design and worldbuilding. I used to think: "well, that's fine, this film had to be like this so everybody loved it and they could proceed with more interesting stuff," but I no longer think it's a good excuse.

    TLJ is taking the lead!

Only 38 people voted so far. I'm a little bit curious what it will be the result if more people voted.

So I'm bringing this thread back to the top.

    Thanks for your attention.

Taking the lead? Is this a contest between the Disney SW movies?

The Last Jedi for me. I know a lot of people really dont like that movie. Which is fine, every movie has their good parts and their bad parts. In my opinion, the good parts outweigh the bad ones the most in this movie.

The Force Awakens easily! It had the best trailers, the coolest new characters (although Enfyst Nest is a very close contender), and was overall the most positive of the movies. It was fun, the fandom was fun, and the conversations were incredibly exciting!

Solo is the second best because it had the most memorable soundtrack (Marauders Arrive was AWESOME), some great character dynamics, and some good old-fashioned fun.

TLJ is third, because I can't stop thinking about it. What I liked, what I disliked, how I would have changed it, what I wanted to see more of, what I appreciated...I can't find it in my to think of this movie on a simple love it/hate it spectrum. It's like it's 3D in my mind, and I think that aspect is fascinating.

Rogue One is my least favorite so far. It's not bad, and I enjoyed going to all the different planets (as well as watching ANH directly afterwards). But the soundtrack took me out of the movie at points, and the characters didn't have as many interactions as I'd like. A movie with the most engaging plot is nothing without interesting characters after all!

Based purely on my initial emotional response to watching them, my list is:
    1. The Last Jedi
    2. The Force Awakens
    3. Rogue One
    4. Solo
Every one of them had their 'Canto Bight' moments where I felt like I was maybe just not engaged with it, but then the rest of the film happens and I forget about that.

But with TFA and TLJ I was mostly on the edge of my seat to the very end. I loved TFA as a triumphant, shameless re-imagining of ANH, and my heart was pumping at the crucial Han moment, despite the fact (or because of) that I'd figured this was his fate - I just didn't know how. And I loved TLJ for all its twist and turns and for subverting any exceptions and for just being a SW film which left me feeling like I had no idea what was going to happen next! Which is what an adventure film should be doing.

Solo was the least engaging for me - dare I say something like a full-length 'Canto Bight'? - where I didn't really feel much sense of peril. But it was fun, like a decent episode of an expensive TV series. Which is probably the idea.

R1 I just enjoyed that bit much more as a direct tie-in to ANH than I did Solo.

I also measure it by how much I wanted one of my good friends to watch them! After both TFS and TLA, I was calling them immediately thereafter saying "You've got to watch this NOW!" Not so much with Rogue One and Solo, and they didn't see R1 until I took over the Blu Ray, and won't see Solo until I do the same. Just an aside - I'm the SW fanatic, not them. But since TLJ they love SW more than ever - to the extent that she bought the Blu Ray. The only SW film she owns.
