If you see TROS....from the 3 movies which is your favorite?

My favorite is the Last Jedi.

Mainly because of Luke's arch.

I've liked them all but I think my favorite will be TROS

For me it is TLJ....such amazing cinematography and small moments, taking time to breathe. TROS was powerful but too rushed for me.

 

The Rise of Skywalker, without question or equivocation.

I absolutely loved The Last Jedi, but The Rise of Skywalker eclipses it by not only building on, doubling down on, and reinforcing the narrative choices that it made, but also unifying both those choices and the narrative choices made in The Force Awakens while simultaneously linking all 3 Sequel Trilogy films to both the Prequel and Classic Trilogies in ways that didn't seem possible back in 2015 when I walked out of the theater after seeing TFA.

Anyway, probably TFA.
Thing is, I think the best written is TROS, while the most beautifully written is TLJ.

It's just a thing with me - first acts are always my favorite because I love the air during the first act the most out of any film, so just like ANH and TPM were my most likely to be watched, TFA is the most likely to be watched out of the new trilogy.

TLJ, easily. A film that actually challenges the characters in more ways than merely superfluous, external action. Luke facing down the entire FO without the use of violence and Rey Nobody (among other things) are infinitely more interesting than anything introduced by the other two films, particularly TROS.

TFA was fun at the time, but as the excitement of a new SW film died down, I realised just how incredibly hollow the film really was. Not to mention the soft reboot aspect.

And, well, TROS is just unwatchable, in my opinion.

 

A close one between TFA and TROS for me. The former is a perfect SW film, I think, so what if it's derivative of ANH? Some might say that ALL SW movies are derivative of the original one in a way. In that one, everything worked for me, and it's the only post-OT film that has a shot of landing in my Top 3 SW films on some days. It's just that close in atmosphere, quality and sheer joy to what the OT means to me. TROS is now kind of new, of course, so who knows where exactly my feelings on it will settle, but after three viewings, I find it to be the richest of the three. So many interesting things to see, the emotional rollercoaster of it all, and indeed, the way it ties together the whole trilogy and makes quite a few decisions that were made in the previous two make so much more sense now. It's a joyride from beginning to end. The final chapters of each trilogy tend to be my favorite (ROTJ for the OT, ROTS for the PT hands down), so I imagine in the end my verdict on the three ST films will be similar: the first one is the better-made movie (ANH > ROTJ in that sense, as well), but the final one is my sentimental favorite and the one I just love watching the most.

 

The Last Jedi

 

Easily 'The Force Awakens'. Mainly because of its characters. Yes, the story might be reminiscent of ANH and TESB, but the characters and its introductions are something else.
The whole movie felt like pure Star Wars. Furthermore is was a good basis for a bright future. Unfortunately the potential wasn't used that much in the follow-up movies (IMO of course).

The second place goes to 'The Last Jedi'. Even though I'm not a huge fan of Rian's ideas, I have to respect his push of his vision. 'The Rise Of Skywalker' was just a mess, which has its ups, but also downs.

Probably the Rise of Skywalker. Yeah at times it's messy, rushed and doesn't make a lot of sense, but its also bonkers over the top sci-fi space fantasy fun as well.

 

I think this thread deserves a poll, if its still posible to include one. I don't think we have a poll here in the cantina to know wich ST movie is our favourite.

This is a tough question cause I haven’t watched TROS a zillion times on Blu-ray yet like I have with TFA/TLJ.

Ultimately, my answer maybe TROS because the ending is so satisfying. ROTS ending is all about hope with the birth of Luke/Leia. ROTJ ending is NOW all about we won the battle, but not the War. TROS truly gives closure to the Saga and Luke, Leia and Han as that’s pretty powerful stuff.
