Anything with Ben Skywalker in it as semi or main character is pretty good in my opinion. I really need to re brush up on the ' Luke making the New jedi order' era

As a new reader, which ones would you recommend? I'm not really a comic book fan but recently I've been watching those dramatized videos of the comics on youtube and I absolutely love them! They are fantastic, even the voice work on them is spot on...they have got me itching to read a few graphic novels.

    But where to start...any ideas?

    Here's my reading list:
    - The Thrawn Trilogy (I'm about to start and I've heard good things, so I'm excited)
    - Kenobi (Obi-Wan's my favorite character, can't wait to read this)
    - The Republic Commando novels

Right now I'm about four chapters into Heir to the Empire and I haven't picked it back up in a few months. Gonna try and finish it at the start of the next college semester and eventually make my way through the Thrawn trilogy.

Coming in from Amazon tomorrow (or today, rather) is Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina along with the Alien Archive and ROS Visual Dictionaries. I'll probably be able to bang those last two out in a day or so and then shift to TFTMEC throughout the week.

Never have read a Star Wars book but I'm starting with Catalyst. Not sure about the old stuff now that Disney has gone and de-canonized it.

Some of the old stuff is worth reading, just remember that it has no implications on the Star Wars universe because they never really happened. But they still are great reads.

All day earlier today Ive been reading X-Wing novel Krytos Trap.

I actually enjoy reading and liking Wedge and Corran Horn's archnemesis bad guys Kirtan and Isaard the Imperial woman in red. Theyre still better than Sloane from the Aftermath trilogy.

Kirtan's grudge against Corran Horn and Tycho are a bit over the top but his grudges against them have that Star Magic charm to it where I really couldnt stand Sloane from the Aftermath Trilogy

In my opinion Catalyst is a fine novel. I really enjoyed that one as well as the novelization of Rogue One.

As for the old EU, a lot of it is, again in my opinion, wrongly maligned. I'd start with the old Thrawn trilogy myself. Just a suggestion.

True, but honestly, one could almost say the same with the nu-canon. So many cool seeds were planted by the Aftermath trilogy, only to then be ignored in the films (whatever one thinks of the author or the actual trilogy itself).

Im reading Star Wars Bloodline. Not bad of a star wars story buy i cant stand the immature bickering between the Centrists and the Populists. Like, really? bunch of grown women and men where they act more like bunch of brats than senators etc

Especially that Lady Carise where shes been trying to kiss Leia's butt and forcing Leia to be First Senator or whatever

Most of my reading so far has been the new canon, and my favorites are Bloodline, Battlefront I and II, the new Thrawn trilogy, and Alphabet Squadron. In the new canon, I still need to read Resistance Reborn and Phasma.

I've only read a few of the Legends books: The New Rebellion, Cloak of Deception, and Ambush at Corellia.
My remaining Legends reading list, so far:
    • Assault at Selonia
    • Showdown at Centerpoint
    • Thrawn trilogy
    • Specter of the Past
    • Vision of the Future
Eventually, I want to start reading the X-wing novels as well.

You might be interested in the audio-drama Dooku: Jedi Lost. While it isn’t a comic, I think that the audio format may be to your liking. I personally listened to it on Audible and read along with the physical copy, which was essentially just a script.

As for the story itself, DJL kept me engaged the entire time. It never got boring or derivative and it was a really interesting look at a character who has never gotten much development since his first appearance in 2002. Highly recommend!

If you’ve never read any Star Wars media, the Darth Vader comics are definitely a great place to start! So far in canon, there have been three ongoing series dedicated to Vader.

    1. Darth Vader (2015) tells Vader’s story after ANH and how he gets back in the Emperor’s good graces after the destruction of the Death Star. This comic also crosses over with the main Star Wars (2015) comic with the Vader Down arc.

    2. Darth Vader: Dark Lord of the Sith (2017) shows the progression of Anakin Skywalker to Darth Vader beginning with the moment he yells “no” in ROTS. This comic also ties in with Rebels and Jedi: Fallen Order, but neither of those stories are required to enjoy this comic.

    3. Darth Vader (2020) tells Vader’s story during the year between ESB and ROTJ. This comic has only just begun with only one issue out at the time of me posting this, so if you want a comic to keep up with each month, this just might be for you.

There are also a handful of miniseries involving Darth Vader out there, but I’d prioritize the ongoing series first. It doesn’t matter what order you read them in, but just be careful not to get the 2015 and 2020 comics mixed up since they share the same name.
