Ok so there have been rumours of a scene involving a Cantina in which Chewie puts a rowdy patron in their place as only Chewie can.

Do you think it is our favourite Cantina from A New Hope or will it be a new one?

It would be kind of interesting to see Daisy/Boyega seek out Han & Chewie only to find them in their old watering hole.

Hey, everyone has their favourite haunt, the Cantina might be like the Cheers bar to Han and (chewie)

    :D

So what do you think the Cantina will be like? By the sounds of it - rough as ever!

The Cantina was THE iconic setting of Star Wars...I can totally see its return. And hope so!

If the Mos Espa background(rumored from the David Arnt screenplay) is used then it won't be "Mos Esley" or "Toshi Station" :(.

Id rather Tatooine not be used AGAIN....
but it sounds like that's may not be the case.
To see Luke go bat scat & wreck the entire planet in a fury would be cool but I don't see that going that way.

Do you think we will return to Mos Eisly Cantina in Star Wars: The Force Awakens?

Maybe Han needs to go see an old friend at the Bar!

What would you think if we went back to "The Wretched Hive of Scum and Villainy"?

To my limited knowledge, David Arnt's screenplay had some scenes in Mos Espa, a city-settlement on Tatooine but NOT Mos Eiseley.

I think if we revisit tatooine in TFA, there is a great chance we will go back to the Cantina. Why do I think that? Fans want to see it, and we've aready seen so many homages to the original films, which proves J.J is listening to the fans and cares about staying true to the original content. A Cantina scene would bring so much nostalgia to the audience, and I already know for a fact that nostalgia is something that has and is being heavily implemented in TFA. For example: physical sets, the original cast returning, X-wings, TIE fighters, and of course the Falcon! We even got a good taste of that nostalgia in a teaser trailer that was a little over a minute long. I honesty think TFA will go out of its way just for the sake of nostalgia in multiple parts of the film. If that means visiting Catina, well, I don't know. But I think there is hope. Especially in TFA. Because it's the first Star Wars film we've gotten in 10 years. And the first Star Wars film that will be paying homage to the original Star Wars films in 32 years, so people will freak out more when they see these things. Hence all the teaser reaction videos and uber-popularity TFA has already received with so little things announced.

I really hope they don't go back to the Cantina, because you can't go to the well of nostalgia too many times. There is a fine line in bringing back to the Big 3 and elements of the OT in the new trilogy. If they go back to the Cantina, I fear we maybe headed to the callling this the NT: Nostalgia Trilogy instead of the ST.

I agree with you a little. I think you can over-do something like "nostalgia." The beauty is though that we have two more movies that can move away from the nostalgia aspects and probably will. In fact I believe we will get more movies in the series after IX as well.

So I could go either way, although it would be awesome to be able to change our banner to an Episode VII version at some point. :p

It's a good point, and it worries me that we may have a split in the fanbase of Episode 7 fans vs Episode 8 & 9 fans the same way you had a split between PT vs OT fans. As you said, TFA will be the most nostalgic of the 3 ST movies, and JJ also said that Han, Luke, Leia are getting their proper sendoff in TFA.

I believe it will work 2 ways:

    1. We have a seamless transition to Episode 8 as we sent out the OT characters in a respectful way, and the next generation got enough screentime that the fans gravitated to them and are interested in THEIR story now.

    2. We get too caught up in OT references in TFA, and Episode 8 feels like a DIFFERENT Trilogy that doesn't connect with us the same way. Many of us will look back and say, "Star Wars is really Luke, Leia and Han, and everything else just wasn't the same.

I Really love the OT, but, i hope the Number 1 will be the option, it's much better fot the franchise if we can have a NEW story that onlye FEELS like the old one, but it' cannot: Feel like "the nostalgia trilogy" or feel like some "boring fan fiction", it must feel like Star wars was going to the theaters for the first time. I think there is a way to do this: maitain luke alive on the entire trilogy with the new main characters, like a "gandalf-wannabe-role"

I think will gonna be cool another cantina, but NOT the same cantina with another random gangster fight. maybe an entire combat inside the cantina, against the troppers or whatever, much more intersting!!! instead of an emulating scene of luke, obi-wan and that gangster... Star wars making only a cover of itself will ruin the franchise, it's time to put NEW THINGS with the ORIGINAL FEEL!!!! NOT COPY....

I agree with this statement, as I am going to start a new thread about this so we don't sidetrack this thread.
