It's hard to argue with your logic because I find it impossible to follow. You make up relationships between words without any kind of explanation behind your reasoning.
You can't give the same focus to all characters, having minor characters in a story does not mean you are exploiting them.

Lando was possibly exploited, which is bad enough - as for everything else, I'll just say that I don't follow other people's logic either

Yes, they are THAT powerful and they are, as all Star Wars villains are, tremendously hubristic. I do sincerely belief that what you just said above - we need to see something of the first order occupation/takeover- is something we'll see in the next one.

Thank you! My thoughts exactly. People jump on me saying that that's not what Star Wars is about, but that was never my point. My point was yours exactly.

I get your point, but again I think you're thinking I'm saying something I'm not. I would just expect the ST to mix it up a bit from the handful of rehash planets and single set, barren planets. The ST seems to be going to the extreme to not show ANY EU planets or anything with a society or civilization of some kind. Nothing urban (besides Canto Bite which is not very interesting and really doesn't have a SW feel to it).

I'm really trying to think of one that isn't just a single set outpost in the ST?

The OT at least had locations like Cloud City, Jabba's Palace, Jabba's Sail Barge, Ewok Village. Things that were interesting and new! GL mixed it up quite well IMO. I agree that he added quite a few glimpses of planets that maybe didn't need to be there to fit the story, but there WAS a galactic war going on, so It was nice IMO to see some of it. So, I'm guessing there is no galactic war in the ST then? I guess it's just a bratty kid in Ben that is playing Sith in a Star Destroyer. Hmmm. This sucks.

I can appreciate the desire to see different kinds of planets and settings. I feel like the ST has delivered that in ways that support the story they have told thus far.

You have to give credit for Ahch-to being a pretty unique addition that is in the ST, though. We got to see some different styles or architecture and from different time periods, different terrain, and fauna.

I think tonally for this trilogy the planets match. Overall they are trying to give this feeling of isolation and desperation. Even Canto Bight while opulent and heavily populated was there to make Finn and Rose feel isolated from that kind of society. Maz's castle was the same way, a lot of people, but all out for themselves. Surrounded but alone. If they stick with that motif, I wouldn't hold out much hope for IX to add the kind of scenery you are hoping for either.

I'm glad you enjoy it! I personally have not gotten immersed into this galaxy since Episode 3 (not counting the books).

I don't even need to see a lot of planets, I'd just like them to mix it up a bit more. So far it just feels like Earth with a couple small sets and CGI here and there. Dammit. :(
