Andor and The Bad Batch Win at the Saturn Awards; Gordy Haab and Stephen Barton Win Grammy for Jedi: Survivor

It's been a busy weekend for Star Wars at awards shows. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor composers Gordy Haab and Stephen Barton won their first Grammy for scoring the Respawn game released last year, while the Saturn Awards had some surprises for Andor (Best New Genre Series) and The Bad Batch (Best Animated TV Series).



Haab and Barton's Grammys win for Jedi: Survivor was a huge one, and a major endorsement to the EA/Respawn franchise. The duo, who also scored the game's predecessor Jedi: Fallen Order, were up against Sarah Schachner (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II), Peter Murray, J Scott Rakozy and Chuck E. Myers “Sea,” (Hogwarts: Legacy), and Jess Serro, Tripod and Austin Wintory (Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical).



A third Jedi game is in development at Respawn Entertainment.



As far as the Saturn Awards go, Star Wars was up for multiple awards, winning Best New Genre Series for Andor (against The Ark, The Last of Us, The Rings of Power, Silo, The Walking Dead: Dead City, and Wednesday) and Animated TV Series or Special for The Bad Batch (over Chainsaw Man, Gremlins: Secrets of Mogwai, Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, Harley Quinn, My Adventures with Superman, and Star Trek: Lower Decks).



It ended up conceding to Star Trek in many categories: Best Sci-Fi Series (Star Trek: Picard won over Andor and The Mandalorian), Best Actor (Diego Luna lost to Patrick Stewart for Star Trek: Picard), Best Supporting Actress (Katee Sackhoff and Genevieve O'Reilly lost to Picard's Jeri Ryan), and Best Guest Star (Giancarlo Esposito and Andy Serkis were up in the category won by Paul Wesley for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds).



Andor season 2 wrapped production in the UK recently. The Bad Batch will start streaming its third and final season later this month. Also, The Mandalorian & Grogu is supposed to start shooting later this year. Lucasfilm's other title, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, was also up for multiple awards. It won Best Fantasy Film, Best Actor (Harrison Ford), and Best Film Music (John Williams).



Additionally, Dave Filoni was also in attendance, as he was honored with the George Pal Memorial Award, though we haven't found many online videos of his acceptance speech.
