I find "Not-Kyle-MacLachlen" genuinely laugh out loud material for whatever reason and weirdly can't stop grinning at the thought after a couple of minutes.

I take it as they are stealing the actual payroll aka the credits.
I don't recall a single card being swiped by any character ever, this is a cash based society as odd as it may seem to first world folk on Earth folk in 2022.

I think this heist if pulled off helps provide some of the first serious funding to buy ships and weapons for the beginning of the real and functional rebellion and lays the foundation for Andor's value to it.

 

We already know that the galaxy has a banking clan and very advanced information/communication technology. I find it really hard to believe that the Empire moves money around using big moneybags on a train (which is apparently not guarded very well either).

 

The Star Wars universe is full of apparent anachronisms. People using swords and blasters. Anti-grav vehicles and beasts of burden. Sometimes beasts of burden pulling Anti-grav vehicles. An at least partly cash based economy is well within the realms of Star Wars believability.

 

Star Wars also have totally insane things -- like stilt tanks, FTL/interdimensional-handwavy space travel, laser swords, magic, and projectile-repellent energy fields -- so either you can accept the logically ludicrous yet conceptually effective writing you sometimes get, or... you don't like Star Wars.

In other words, if you accept the ridiculousness of TESB, or even ANY, then you can't complain about cash money in Star Wars.

 

Given this runs parallel to Rebels I wonder if we’ll see or hear of Mon Mothma’s Declaration of Rebellion which happens on 2 BBY, if so won’t be until season 2 episodes 7-9.

I think that happened in 4 BBY so if it features in Andor in some way it prob won’t be until the start of season 2 / end of season 1 at the earliest. Though if I remember right that message only went out to Lothal. But it would be a good way to end the season if we found out the message managed to reach a wider audience across the galaxy.

Ah dang we won't hear it until possibly season 2. And yes it did go out to Lothal and then eventually the majority of the galaxy, eventually reaching even Ezra's parents in an Imperial prison.
