TPM and AOTC was campy and goofy? What the hell? What in the hell? I can't believe I just read this.

This episode almost felt like a foreshadow of the "Rogue One" finale, but with a more concise plan.

HAHA :D, I love TPM and AOTC just keepin' it real... I own several versions of those films btw... and I cherish them... I appreciate all types of Star Wars content: cartoons, live action, films, tv series, comic books, novels, etc...

I truly apologize if I insulted you or fandom in any type of fashion.

    Cheers,
    Rogues1138 :D

What a great episode. It kinda felt like a finale.

This show is one of the best looking SW content ever. I especially liked these two shots:

Along with the suspense of the heist, the TIE pilots preparing for launch against that backdrop is some Star Wars I never knew I needed until now. That was a beautiful shot.

RIP Nemik. You were a brave little quasi space-bolshevik. Also Gorn and Taramyn.

May the force be with you.

One thought, following that screenshot (thank you @Madmartigan for the screenshots).

I have a feeling that old chief Aldhani understood that Lt Gorn wasn't really translating his words to the Commandant, when they had their meeting. And this is the reason why he throws the Commandant's gift in the fire.

    Anyone felt the same ?

I think from the way the chief glanced sharply at Lt. Gorn, he knew the words weren't being translated correctly. But I wondered if he just throws the gift on the fire every year in contempt.

I had two thoughts regarding this.

    1) The Commander gives the locals a bundle of furs that looks very much like the one they give him in the ceremonial exchange, and I wonder if the Imps disrespectfully just regifts last year's bundle, and that's why the chieftain throws it on the fire in apparent disgust.

    2) Also, I wonder if the moment between chieftain and Lt. Gorn signals that they had an understanding of some sort. Perhaps they had been warned or something, which might tie into the fact that Cinta leaves the base to go downhill to the local settlements after the heist.

    Thoughts?

    Wise and legit assumption.

I don't think so, the scene continues normally after the glance.

I have a problem with that. First, I did not see it when watching the episode. I learnt that point in this particuliar thread. So I went back to the episode, searched, and found the moment effectively one can actually see Cinta going to the natives.
But I was wondering : so, Cinta left the prisoners (Commandant's wife and son, and others) ? Why the hell ? Because the heist is now over ?

Well, Val herself explained that (not verbatim), "because we, unlike the Empire, are true to our words" (or whatever it was). The Rebel cell seeks to make the world better, not to be just as bad as the enemy.

It would be awesome if the Commandant and/or his family had a change of heart after this and do something good later on. Although that is probably too much of a wishful thinking.

Skeen effed around... and found out. ;) Cassian is still very much the mercenary at this point in the story arc. He wanted his cut and even gave back the "deposit" crystal that Luthen gave him... no more, no less.

Oh! Did he die? I saw he collapsed in the hangar, but did the Commandant bite the dust?

    As for language:
--"effed around" is a roundabout way to say "f***ed around", with "eff" as in the "f-word".
--"found out" = basically "got what he deserved" or somesuch.

Yes I was aware of that.
So, Cinta left the prisoners, because the heist is over, and the rebellion promised to leave the hostages alive. OK I buy that.
    --- Double Post Merged, Oct 13, 2022, Original Post Date: Oct 13, 2022 ---
    I assumed that.
It's MY head canon :D but yes, I was quite sure he was dead.

Thank you. Skeen made a mistake and paid the price. Is it that ?

Absoloutely. This was perfect. Didn't interfered in the heist and set the tone for next chapters and gives the importance of those characters in the building of the real Rebellion.

    THIS!!

    Loved it!

    I had the same feeling.
For a sec even I thought they were going to help/fight too. Seemed there was some kind of confidence with Gorn.

Regarding Karis death, is one of the saga that has affected me the most. Cause I love Lawther acting, I loved the character, I loved what he did in the heist and how he acted. I loved everything about him.
Luke's death was not that well done for my taste. Obviously I love Luke's character but his passing was not that emotional, for who he was.

    That could make sense.

    You're are welcome @daRinze :) After work I will share part 2

    So true!
    Can I say it ? I exulted with him ;) :D

Agreed. Add to that his death was one of the most "unfair". :( He did not deserve to be crushed by billions credits.

**sorry about that -- it's really an American phrase and not commonly used elsewhere**

"Effed around" is a content-filter-friendly way of saying "F**k Around". The entire phrase, "F**k around and find out" is "A warning given when someone is acting foolishly and about to face consequences, commonly used in the setting of a bar or street fight" according to the Urban Dictionary.

It's pretty close to what I was implying, which is that Skeen didn't understand that Andor is really a mercenary, and that the idea of having to look over his shoulder until the mission was over because Skeen really wanted to split with half the score didn't sit well with Andor.

I saw the entire sequence as foreshadowing his quick decision-making skills when he killed Tivik and the two stormtroopers on Ring of Kafrene in Rogue One.

I thought that was clear from the exchange that the Chief knows enough Basic to realize that the translation wasn't honest. Throwing the gift in the fire is his way of showing contempt at the entire "act", not unlike how the Commandant feels about it.

Oh ! Do they speak in Basic ?
If so, why would the Commandant ask for "a translator" to Lt Gorn ? Everybody knows how to speak Basic, especially the humans who are the most advanced and smart specie, right ?

I also assumed they did not speak Basic, because their speech is dubbed.
I think Basic is traditionnaly not dubbed in SW because it's a common language. When "they" speak Basic "we" hear our native language. Only foreign languages are dubbed.
