The Aldahni chief speaks in his native tongue, not basic. The Commandant does not speak the language of the Aldahni people. Hence the need for Gorn to translate.

When Gorn does not correctly translate the chief's words, he turns to look at Gorn (who is off-camera in the shot) - *that* is the "tell". Go back to minute 19 of episode 6.

So the way we unceremoniously left Cinta in the Aldhani wilderness, Gorn and Taramyn and the Commandant lying on the vault floor, we are 100% going to be following up with those characters, right? I can't tell if we are headed for a huge pivot in the story or jump ahead, or we will be seeing all those loose ends tied up sooner rather than later.

Also, until a SW character dies on screen (and usually never sometimes not even then) they are 100% alive.... The drama of Gorn's treason and Taramyn being discovered as ex-stormtrooper in the aftermath of this heist is too good to pass up. I really hope those two and the Commandant are still kickin'.

The Chief knew enough to tell that Gorn had told the Commandant something different from what he had said. I thought that was kind of obvious. I can quite easily imagine that the Dahni have had contact with enough visitors to view the eye that one of their mottos, about the eye bringing good, being said in English/Basic is familiar to them.

Cinta's walk out was a head-scratcher for me, since I was already wondering how she would get back to the team in the vault if she was watching over the hostages. Part of me was expecting her to kill them all. She didn't, so I expect she will remain in hiding until (what's left of) the gang comes back for her or they arranged transport off-world. Either way it would be a big disappointment not to revisit that character.

When I watched it the first time, I assumed that Gorn and Taramyn dies from blaster wounds, and that the Commandant had a heart attack, so he may or may not survive depending on how quick he can get aid. But, to your point, unless you see them die, you can never be sure anymore, especially in a GFFA.

That "med spike" interests me. I get the feeling it's not something that is intended to stabilise or sedate a patient. It looked more like a shot of amphetamines inteded to give someone a brief boost. Enough to make them run into battle regardless of their condition or chances of surviving.

I was interested in it as well, but couldn't find anything other than references to the episode (I didn't look very far). I saw it as being more like adrenaline that amphetamines - it gives you that fight or flight response that they needed during the escape.

Yeah, not exactly life-preserving, as the "med" moniker might suggest. Performance boosting perhaps. But ultimately life-shortening.

Looking at how heavy those "crates" of credits were, I'm surprised he didn't die immediately/sooner from internal bleeding or an organ failure. When they pulled him out, I remembered that it is "fiction" and I shouldn't take it too seriously.

I just think back to that USAF plane that crashed in Afghanistan because they didn't secure the load inside properly. When they lifted off the ground the load shifted to the rear and threw the entire weight/balance off. I don't think they made it but a few hundred feet off the ground before gravity took over.

But yes, the adrenaline rush gave him the time needed to help Cassian (ahem, Clem) pilot the ship through the Eye and into space. You don't need to be in the writer's room to figure out that Cassian will eventually read the manifesto of the guy who saved him.

I read somewhere that one of the last words from K2 to Cassian was "Climb", as one of the last words from Nemik. A great callback to Rogue One.
Now there is the theory that Nemik's manifesto contains something and some of that will be introduced in K2 memories.

True or not, I can't wait in season 2 to see Cassian with K2 again.

Enjoying the show and the trend of 2 episodes of buildup and one high tension/high-action release.

Episode 6 of Andor has been the most Cinematic Star Wars has been since TLJ IMO. The angles and shots taken, the use of frenetic motion and partying to add to the palpable tension, the visuals...it was all a masterpiece. I'm sure the director will be announced for an undetermined Star Wars project (be it a show or a whole movie) soon after the season finishes.

I do have one major critique of the show, and one major critique of the episode. For the episode, it's that all the people of color either died or were left on the planet. I wasn't surprised by this, simply by the occupations of the two men (and the ambiguous mission job of the lady), but it still hurt. I've said it before and I'll say it again - Star Wars has a very uncomfortable history with minorities - particularly minorities of color - in its media. This episode sadly continued that.

For the show as a whole:
While I'm loving Andor and finding it to be the best Star Wars show as far as aesthetics go, the dour and grim political thriller nature of the show makes the show feel less like Star Wars and more like a phenomenal Sci-Fi show dressed as Star Wars. While I do believe some of the markers of Star Wars are the ships, sounds, and stories (and lightsabers - we've had a lightsaber show up in virtually every form of media), an often said but never really understood aspect of this franchise is hope. Of course we have "A New Hope" and the line "Rebellions are built on hope," but that hope - that optimism that things will get better and we can make them better - is missing in Andor. Right now we have anger and hatred and righteous fury, but no real hope. Mon isn't a pillar of hope, at least not yet. And yes, we can't have a journey if we don't have a beginning, but the lack of hope in this show so far is really hurting my enjoyment of it.*

Still, this is easily the best show since The Mandalorian.

    Current Ranking:
The Mandalorian (more episodes, more unique designs and interesting tie-ins, more hopeful and fun)
Andor (looks phenomenal, brilliant sound and acting, and overall just a higher quality)
Obi-Wan (was fun in the moment, but needed more time in the oven to fully come together)
BOBF (was okay in the moment, I still think it would have been better suited as a videogame)

*It just reminds me of all of the "jaded person (usually a disgruntled white male veteran of some sort) finds hope in the eyes - and sacrifices - of the young. That in turn is spun off into "jaded adult is paired up with youthful kid and finds optimism again," and I'm sick of both tropes.

I'm really enjoying this series too and found it quite odd when I heard yesterday that the series has gotten far less 'buzz' from Star Wars fans and the public (as such online things are measured) than other shows. I think @Use the Falchion hit on the reason: it's doesn't 'feel' Star Wars-ish enough.

It may turn out that Kathleen Kennedy's assertion that the GFFA if big enough to tell all kinds of stories may turn out to be false if fans expect a show like The Mandalorian and get Andor instead.
