Actor Alex Ferns has confirmed on social media that his character on Andor, Syril Karn's mate Sergeant Linus Mosk, will not return for season 2.

When replying to a fan that asked for the character to transition into a 'silly little rebel', he replied: 'I thought that would be the case but alas you've seen the end of Mosk.' The last time we saw Mosk was during the insurrection on Rix Road after Maarva's funeral, which he attended with Syril Karn (Kyle Soller).

Kyle Soller is confirmed to be returning for season 2, which will kick off a year after the events that went down in Ferrix. The format of storytelling is changing slightly in the second season -- once again, each block of three episodes will tell a self-contained story, but they will have less interconnectivity between them, as there will be a year-long time jump in between blocks. That way, the writers will be covering the four-year gap between season 1 and Rogue One, telling the story of the definitive formation of the Rebel Alliance.

Other than Ferns, the entire main cast is expected to return. So far, we have official confirmation on Diego Luna (Cassian Andor), Alan Tudyk (K-2SO), Genevieve O’Reilly (Mon Mothma), Stellan Skarsgård (Luthen Rael), Duncan Pow (Melshi), and Adria Arjona (Bix Caleen). The writers are also all returning -- Tony Gilroy, Dan Gilroy, Beau Willimon, and Stephen Schiff will now be joined by Tom Bissell. The directing team on the second season includes Ariel Kleiman (6 episodes), Janus Metz (3 episodes), and Alonso Ruizpalacios (3 episodes).

Andor season 2 is currently in production in multiple locations across the UK. It will be shooting through August and is expected to hit Disney Plus sometime in the second half of 2024. You can check out Josh's review of the finale here, or keep up with the latest Andor news here.

Is it really necessary to do this? Is it really necessary to bring the series right up to "Rogue One"? The series is about how Cassian became part of the Rebel Alliance. I see no need to depict all of those five years before the events of the 2016 movie. If Tony Gilroy wants to effectively depict Cassian's five years with the Rebellion, this series needs to be a lot longer than two seasons. And this second season is in danger of being more episodic and a bit more rushed.
