Who thinks we will see some characters from any other SW media in the show?
I heard Lando (Billy Dee Williams as his voice), C-3PO, and R2-D2 will be in it to some extent, and Obi-Wan in a hologram recording. But what other characters?
I'm hoping for an appearance of Darth Vader and his "secret" apprentice if they decide to keep that story cannon.
Also Han & Chewie meeting, maybe Kanan or Ezra will assist in Chewie's rescue.
A confrontation of Asokah and Vader and she realizes he is her former master.
    What do you guys think?

A confrontation of Ahsoka and Darth Vader could be very great & powerful if done correctly.

I would like to see a young Mon Mothma especially since she was cut out of Episode III.

Boba Fett is a given IMO. I would also love to see Bosskk and Dengar. Give them some meat and fill-out their characters, which would only enhance the movie watching experience.

I have no idea why I didn't think of the bounty hunters given I mentioned them in the Live Action series post. Mothma would be ideal given shes one of the big rebel leaders. I hope we see the formal beginning of the ACTUAL Rebel Alliance not just Kanan's "rag-tag group of rebels."

I definitely think we will. This is set about 5 years before ANH so that gives them about 4 or 5 years or story material that can bridge the gap. Plenty of time and material to work with.

True. I wonder if Kanan will encounter another Jedi, say Quinlan Voss?

That would be cool! Possibly show Voss' demise at the same time.

I wonder if the Ventress/Voss novel will tie Clone Wars to Rebels.

I hope so and I think so. At this point Disney/LFL is very interested in growing the galaxy and tying all these various threads together.

I can't imagine that Ahsoka doesn't show up. Filoni loves the character. She was a favorite of younger clone wars fans. And, they never finished her story.

I wasn’t a huge fan of the character in early seasons, but thought she was one of the best in the series by the end. Seeing her in Rebels and getting some closure to that last scene of her walking off an leaving the jedi council would be a good storyline for rebels.

Yes, I couldn't agree more. I think some of these dangling threads -- Aksoka, Ventress, Voss and others -- are fertile griound for some fantastic stories in Rebels while tying everything together. Win - win!

I'll start by saying that beyond Billy Dee Williams (remember, not necessarily Lando. Mark Hamill played Darth Bane), Luminara and the Obi Wan message from the Jedi temple; we're not going to be seeing a lot of known characters for a while in the series (thinking of many in terms of years). Their primary goal is to make viewers want to see the main characters. Now I'm going to contradict myself immediately by bringing up Onderon (one of my biggest EU wet dreams come to life in TCW).

The Onderon connection to the Alliance from TCW seems pretty obvious to include relatively early in the life of the series so maybe Saw or Lux might still be involved. Because of the Lux connection, we immediately think Ahsoka (I don't expect her for a long time).

I think it would be a lot more strange if Ahsoka didn't appear at some point in the story though who knows in what capacity. The fact that her name comes from the word, "Ashla," makes it pretty unlikely that she would've gone darkside and negate the Onderon connection. Along with Onderon's mistrust of the Empire, imagine how the Mandalorians feel. Considering how surprisingly EU the Mandalore of TCW was (and the forshadowing of Obi Wan and Bo Katan's last conversation), they were likely overtaken by the Republic/Empire which leads us to the Look on Bo Katan's face when Obi Wan says his now cliche, "I'm so sorry."

What was that face she made? Regret? Disgust? Resentment? Enough emotion to practically name a kid after her sister (I honestly think that's a coincidence)? What about their nephew and the rest of the white-kid gang that rescued Satine? Was that episode in season 5 their, "hey check us out, we're older!" moment or is that still to come? Speaking of kid groups, what about the younglings from the Gathering?

Katooni: she and Hondo seem to have a thing going by the end of that arc. Is Hondo a possible cameo? Ganodi and Zatt: the two I'm least interested in seeing so the two most likely to appear. Byph: it all depends on whether they enjoy working with aliens who can't speak basic...and how much they want to do that yelling-ithorian-jedi move from the 2003 Clone Wars Battle of Coruscant. Petro: No. Gungi: the avatar of patience I need right now...plus, wookie + jedi = the purest thing in the Star Wars universe. Hanharr is the exception that proves the rule of wookie purity (and proof that the Old Republic era is to Star Wars what the mirror universe was to Star Trek. Anyway, all unpopular editorials aside, what were Ben and Yoda doing for 14 years?

Not curating caves on Dagobah for secret apprentices of the Sith I'm afraid. I loved TFU and the cutscenes from TFU2 but that stuff didn't happen. As much as I love watching Starkiller's scene with Yoda and Vader's convoluted plan to clone a guy so he could be arrested by the Rebels...fighting Vader and Palpatine feels cool like a game should...too much is contradicted and self-contained to be applied very clearly. That being said, the contradicting scenes from III were deleted...but the Onderon arc in TCW is explained as the earliest birth of the Rebellion so we'll see.

I'm sure I could keep going with Kenobi spin-off tie-ins and stuff but this is already too long.

    tl;dr: It's too long. Don't read.

I'm hopeful to see Ahsoka again in some form, especially in the manner you described. However, I feel it necessary to perhaps have her aside from the main characters, appearing in a few episodes or a season or two. Eventually I think she needs to meet her final end, most likely during said confrontation with her former master. Would make Vader all the more disturbing as a character.

There have been some fan-made renditions of characters from TCW and OT, I know for sure.

Those look like interesting tie-ins. Bariss Offee... I can't remember what happened to her. Wasn't she taken away after admitting she was responsible for framing Ahsoka and killing Jedi/Republic troops? Perhaps Palpatine put her in a special prison to manipulate and fully turn her?

Hm, been a bit since I saw that episode, but I if I recall correctly Palpatine was in the middle of saying that Ahsoka's sentence was death when they were interrupted. Can't remember if he said the same for Bariss, but seeing as she admitted it but hadn't had a trial I think he just said "take her away".

But at this point, even if she'd been sentenced to death, I figure Palpatine had the power to pull some strings and transfer her to somewhere of his choosing, and keep an execution from going through.

EDIT: And in checking the Wookieepedia, there is a conflict that shows, as what is stated is that she for some reason rejoined the Republic forces and was killed with Secura on Felucia during Order 66. It warns that this is outside the canon of course. So technically she hasn't been shown to have been killed it would seem.

It would make more sense for Prequel era characters to show up than it would for OT or Sequel era characters I think.

That depends on the characters and situation. I could see the OT characters making appearances, but some more involved (like maybe Han and Chewie in an episode storyline) while others would be less-involved (like an episode taking place on Tatooine and maybe the characters bump into a young Luke for some reason).

I do admit it would be bit cheesy to do so, but if done correctly it doesn't necessarily not make sense.

I think I should note however that I've not seen anything other than the premier hour-long episode, and
as such, have not seen the apparent cameo of R2-D2 and C-3P0 that occurs, so I can't speak on that
