    Very good choice for such a risky casting move. She's demonstrated a strong mastery of both drama and comedy which will be useful for the role. I can't wait to see where they go with this. I only hope that if the new show runners take a turn for the worse that fans looking for a reason to blame the new doctor won't use that against her.

    It is going to be a high risk season with new cast and new writers all at once. They are basically starting over with a new pilot at this point.

    As far as I'm concerned the people upset at it being a woman are no different than those who hated Matt Smith because he was a nobody and too young and Capaldi was too old and not attractive enough.

    Whittaker is young and beautiful. So the easiest thing to attack is what is - or isn't - between her legs.

    It's just that the climate right now is geared towards making everything an -ism so critiquing Whittaker is sexism right now when in reality it's just the normal cycle of every new Doctor ever.

    So excited for the Christmas special and Jodie Whittaker's doctor. What a great decision, especially since Peter Capaldi's doctor was such a disappointment. He did a wonderful job and is a magnetic actor, but Moffat had no idea how to write his version of the doctor. He was so boring, whimpy, and not clever. I almost cried during the 13th doctor reveal video. Go Jodie.
