I should have not opened my mouth. And dam'n it, Tech... that hurt. I guess we are getting season 3, announced at the Celebration.

Someone predicted that Hemlock assistant is clone herself. I am not sure it was here. But, by the Force, do I hate Hemlock.

I'm still not convinced Tech is dead. We don't have a body.

Well. I hate what is happening here. Kinda hard to find much to say. I never thought an animated show would cause tears until Rebels, and they just proved me wrong again. This is a great series, and you gotta love a good story arc and cliffhanger, but gah... And now I'm upset they made me use the word "cliffhanger" after the events of this finale.

Part of me feels the same, but that was quite a fall. If he's not gone, and Hemlock has him, he may be better off dead.

That sours the ending a bit more now knowing they end on a cliffhanger.

This was a great, heart-wrenching finale. This show just keeps getting better and better.

I had a suspicion they were killing someone off, but my money was on Crosshair or Echo. After the little interaction with Tech and Phee on Pabu, I thought that since he didn't look back at her or give her a little wave or something, Tech would be fine. But I should have known all the character development for Tech this season was just so they could rip our hearts out more effectively. Guess I am wearing clown shoes today. :p

Anyway, I thought Hemlock giving Hunter Tech's goggles was a bit like the Mouth of Sauron giving Gandalf, Aragorn & company Frodo's mithril coat to make them feel hopeless...when of course Frodo was still alive. So we shall see.

It seems you were on to something here, @cawatrooper.

But if she too is a clone, why aren't they experimenting on her? Are her clone origins a secret?

ooh, I must've missed that we got two episodes this week!

I wonder if the female Fett clones weren't chipped? Omega seems not to have been, right?

Maybe that, combined with her presumably not having served in the war in battle, makes Hemlock trust her more?

In your defense, I wasn't expecting anything to happen to Tech either, even though it seems obvious now in hindsight. Maybe we were both wearing clown shoes then. Although, as has been pointed out, we never did see the body.

I was a little behind but am now caught up. (Got spoiled of everything before I got there, but such is life).

As with season 1, I found season 2 to be a great show and a powerful addition to the franchise. Stellar Star Wars, this!

Regarding Tech's death, I was actually surprised that all of the band survived season 1, and I said from the start that one of Tech or Echo would be the first to go (albeit in s2 rather than s1 as I though). Tech and Echo fills the same function in the band, more or less, so from a storytelling standpoint it was natural that one of them perished eventually (and Echo has more character plot and backstory, and therefore more milage than Tech). Still, cool that Tech got a meaningful death...

Except... this being Star Wars, there is no way of knowing that he is actually dead. I hope he is, as the idea of threat and consequence is seriously watered-down in Star Wars.

As for season 3, we're obviously going to have a rescue plotline. Also, Crosshair will help his old squad one last time (or possibly outright rejoin the BB).

Question, since I cannot remember much past my last breath: Who was the woman with Saw Gerrera? The stormtrooper-disguied resistance fighter who got injured?

I'm fuzzy on the time line, but could it be Jyn Erso? It seems pretty early--surely she'd still have been a child?

I was wondering that, too, but surelly not. BB occurs within a few years of Order 66, and Jyn was born just a few years before (in 21 BBY IIRC). Jyn would be around 3-5 here, I would think, or 10 at the very, very most (and that's stretching it way too far as s1 occured shortly after Order 66 and s2 about 6 months after the s1 finale).

So, I think it will have to have been someone else. I can't remember the people that Saw was hanging out with in that episode in s1 when he turned up, nor the people he hang with on Onderon during TCW... Perhaps she was just a random partisan?

Can you forgive Cid? Even she may start help/resurce, not sure that happen. Can't start back stabbing/betray, whatever reason sometime it hard to forgive. Even they may have reason, it made you not trust anyone. Don't know the team going to give Cid piece of their mind, and go after her, to I think she desvered what she get what ever her reason and even if she ever did come to rescure cos team help her out and she sold them out. How can you give for that? It remind me in Star Wars when Lando Han and his friends even Lando plan things out.

Not like Lando at all. Lando had no choice. The Empire arrived before the Falcon and he did what he had to do to save his own life and the lives of his people. Plus, he made the deal reluctantly and immediately set a plan in motion to subvert Vader and help Leia and Chewie, warn and later save Luke, and go to great lengths to rescue Han.

Cid threatened the Batch with turning them in on previous encounters. They limped back to Ord Mantel, literally bruised and broken. She coldly betrayed them for her own profit. She knew that they were physically and emotionally injured, and had to know that Hemlock wanted Omega, who had been badly hurt, and she turned them in, despite not being in any danger or threat of Imperial force on her or her operation.

I don't think Hunter, Wrecker or Echo are willing to waste the time or effort to exact revenge on Cid, they have one sole focus going forward. However, once Phee gets the news that Tech is gone, and Omega was turned over to the Empire by Cid, she may very well clear her schedule and make a trip to Ord Mantel herself.

The only nice thing Cid did was her sincere condolences over Tech. And, while the betrayal itself was cold, she did seem genuinely torn up about it. It does make me wonder if there could be any redemption for her in season 3, or if she'll remain a villain and get her comeuppance.

I can't see her being in any position to help rescue Omega, which would be the only plausible way for her to even begin to redeem herself. It's a certainty that she has burned people in the past, both Phee and Mileggi warned the Batch not to trust her. Surely she has more enemies than friends, and now that her free protection is gone, not sure how long those Imperial Credits are gonna last if she has to hire muscle.
