Ok, but then you also have to question "the man in black" thing because (as far as I know) that came from the same making star wars report.

Because Ezra isn't a very good character (he is Anakin-lite and the worst part of Rebels by a mile) and constantly reaching back to the past is the weakest part of Filoni's cartoons in general. Going back with "oh my god, this character is now that character....." is never a good storytelling move. Let Ezra's story play out in Rebels, and stay in Rebels and let the ST actually start to blaze new ground.

    Where is he? Dead.

i dont believe that BDT is playing Ezra. you can contrive it to fit, just like any and all characters that have open ended fates.
anyway, how does Bendu provide a way out for Kanan and Ezra ? he just whisks them away ? that would be poor story telling. again, you can contrive things to fit. anyone remember Plagueis is Snoke, or any other *insert* is Snoke? any open ended character can be 'rumoured' or speculated to be another character. its not necessarily wrong, but it should be acknowledged that its all fan-desires, usually because itd be a direction theyd like the series/movies to go or they like the character.

Kanan i would say is dead, but i highly doubt after being recently blinded, that he'll die at the end of this season. it is a kids show. Ezra i dont really see a way out for him unless something really really xrazy happens, such as the Zeb Homeworld theory posted a page or two back. honestly, i think most the characters in the Ghost crew should pass before OT hits. itd be cool if Thrawn was told to venture into the Unknown Regions like in the books to keep him around for another season/film in the future, possibly between ROTJ and TFA. the same with Hera, who obviously survives to a point in the OT-timeline or beyond. the Clone-trooper/s will die as OT hits, thats in their genetic coding )aging fast). Sabine would be great to keep around for a future film/show to do with Mandalore/Mandalorians, which im honestly --since the show would have had to be communicating with the Story Group before being created/put on air -- that they werent utilized in the ST. most SW fans know what mandalorians are and to see them in the films would be great.

I actually like the idea of TV show characters crossing into movies. While Rebels is definitely a children's show (with a few dark elements), it would be interesting to see a more grown up Ezra Bridger (and he can be quite different in terms of personality as well- how many people really retain the same personality traits in their late 40s-early 50s that they had in their teens?)

And it is entirely possible that he gave up training to be a jedi and took up some other profession like smuggling, bounty hunting, piracy etc., considering his friendship with the likes of Hondo Ohnaka; so again, Yoda's words could still ring true about Luke being the last jedi at the time of ROTJ. Also, going by appearance, BDT could easily play an older Ezra- it would be a wasted opportunity not to capitalize on that.

That being said, I'm not sure Kanan would survive the series- he might die towards the end of the fourth season. Maybe the rebels abandon the ghost crew somewhere (they did that to the surviving RO crew on Scarif so it wouldn't be a first for them), and that could be a good reason for Ezra to be disillusioned with the rebels and take up another occupation.

Sounds a lot like what they did with Ahsoka. Worked well enough the first time though, so why not again.

That would be a hell of an ending to be fair - what a kick to the gut it would be, and damn emotional

As Pablo Hidalgo once said (not literal) "It is always a lot of fun discussing SW with someone who does not know what`s gonna happen in future". Great theories, guys. As for me Story Group has a lot of "jokers up their sleeves" to fascinate us and it will be as original as everything else.

    Cheers, A

    Interesting thought.

Anyone ever play the old Shadows of the Empire game? The ending of that has the hero, Dash Rendar, being assumed dead after the final space battle.

But wait! If you beat the game on the correct difficulty, see see Dash and his droid escaping into hyperspace, happy that their apparent death is the perfect cover to them to return to anonymity.

Ever since season 2, Kanan and Ezra have been concerned with the attention that they draw to the Rebellion as Jedi. Perhaps they, at some pivotal moment, will turn an apparent death into a way to escape the Empire's attention, for the benefit of the Rebellion- and, if it turns out he's gone to the outer rim perhaps they'll seek to find Thrawn while they're gone.
