Let's talk about the amazing writing for Andor, IMO far beyond anything we have ever experienced in SW....what is your favorite monologue scene, Gilroy seems to excel at these...

Any others, not in the voting list? Luthen had several other memorable moments. How about Mon Mothma?

Not exactly monologues, but ep 7 has some of the best dialogues/writing in the series:

Luthen and Mon, "has anyone built a weapon that wasn't used?" The words and emotions in this scene are so real. That shudder when she asks him, "do you know what you've done?" And then...

Mon has probably her best scene of the season as she brings Tay Kolma in on her secret activities that "only three people in the Galaxy know about." He naively warns her that she might find his politics to be "a bit strong for her taste". Mon delivers what is one of the best single lines in the entire season, "I show you the stone in my hand, you miss the knife at your throat." She tells him everything without telling him anything. Brilliant.

Cassian goes home to take Maarva away from Ferrix... She is staying for the Rebellion, she's tired of hiding but she wants him to go and find peace. "I'll never find any peace. I'll worry about you constantly!" Her reply, "That's just Love. Nothing you can do about that...you can't stay and I can't go." If that scene doesn't hit you in a soft place...

This episode also has that first intense interaction between Vel and Kleya, which is so good, and Bix crushes Cassian by telling him, " You need to go as far from here as you can..." For what was considered a stand-alone transitional episode between story arcs, it was jam-packed with amazing and emotional writing

    ONE WAY OUT.

Marv's scene was great, but there's a futility to it.
Luthen's scene was self-praising even as he called himself doomed and forced another guy to continue spying. I still loved it though.

If you'd just read Luthen's monologue by itself, I could understand how someone could come away with that impression.

However, Stellan's performance was SO gut-wrenchingly from the heart that (IMO) the viewer can't help but recognize his complete and utter sacrifice for the cause.

For me, Maarva's speech was incredibly haunting, as it reached its crescendo. Her speech as dynamic as it is inspired revolt.

I thought this was brilliant screenwriting. Having Maarva place a hologram inside her old droid (ala Princess Leia in ANH) to allow her to 'light a revolutionary spark' at her own funeral was a wonderfully inspired idea.

I don't doubt his sacrifice and his belief in it, and I think what he says is 100% true. I just don't think that it outweighs the fact that he's sending a man who wants out and has just as much to lose back in. Speech-wise, I just love the intensity of Snoke - I mean Alfred - I mean Caeser - I mean Kino Loy's speech.

The other Elephant in the Room is the writing in this series.

Just orders of magnitude beyond anything we have ever had before, anywhere in Star Wars.

I have never, ever, rewatched any scenes of just dialog, in any other Star Wars show or movie before Andor. Yet here we are, I rewatch MANY scenes of just dialog in this amazing show.

@MBWilson @Madmartigan Hey cannot believe I missed this little gem from Brasso to Andor in Ep 12.....again....the writing just brilliant in this series

Brasso telling Andor about Maarva's message

"..Tell him none of this is his fault. It was already burning, he was just the first spark of the fire....Tell him he knows everything he needs to know, and feels everything he needs to feel. And when the day comes to pull together , he will be an unstoppable force for good. Tell him I love him more that anything he could ever do wrong..."

Spark of the fire....spark of the rebellion....and foreshadowing his service in R1....wow....

That scene is SO incredibly good. In an episode full of emotion in a series full of emotion, it's one of the most underrated bits of dialogue. For me it all goes back to one of the most valuable and hardest life lessons a person can learn.

Sometimes you have to feel like you've lost everything to truly see how much you have.
