Pure speculation: I have a feeling the scene with Luke and Rose passing the light sabre around will be the reunion. The all meet up have several cute moments Luke/Anakin's sabre gets passed around. 1st Leia who acknowledges she is too old and her place is else where. Rey is repulsed by it. Han chuckles and says don't look at me. Finn at last takes it keeping it for when its needed.

 

This going to be fun.

 

Given all information we've been told here and elsewhere it's not difficult to theorize this exact outcome (that the big 3 will not appear together). In that light this thread sounds like further regurgitation of old news.

I have no reason to question the validity of your claim...you have just as much evidence as the next guy...but...are you sure that Wicket won't have a scene with Luke and Han? Please confirm so that I don't have to go to bed on a pillow of tears.

Well whether it is spec or spoiler, this actually - and sadly for those of us who love the OT and the Big Six (I count Chewy and the droids as part of the iconic sextet) - is in keeping with what we do actually know about TFA. First, there is the structural issue. There are a lot of new characters, who are supposed to become the icons around which this trilogy and its aftermath are built. We are supposed to pay attention to them, fall in love with them, etc. Will that happen if they are competing with the Big Six all the time? Very likely the screentime of all six will be very limited, and will be more about connecting the new characters to the plot and the emotion and the iconography than about the Big Six themselves.

Next, there are the relationships, as we have been spoiled so far. Supposedly, Han and Leia have been a couple and have had children, but are estranged. Han and Chewy haven't seen the Falcon in a long while, if their last line in the teaser is any indication - which means they probably haven't seen each other either. Luke is either missing or just away, not in close communication, at the very least isolating himself for the long term the way he once isolated himself with Yoda.

Because the film is about the new characters and their place in the universe, the Big Six orbit around them, not vice versa. So in other words, we won't see more than two of them together in a scene - three at most, more than likely. We will see Han and Chewy maybe together with Daisy, Boyega and Oscar. We probably won't see Leia, Luke or the droids in those scenes. Then Daisy and Boyega may go in search of Luke (or Gleeson or Driver or some combination of the above). Han and Chewy probably won't be in those scenes, and Leia - now the Hillary/Angela of the New WhateverItIs - is in her own space and probably never boards a ship, never visits an alien planet, but is at all times wherever it is that she is leading whatever group she is leading. We may later see the new characters interacting with Leia, and she may be reunited with Han OR Luke - but it won't be with both, at least not in a single film. Luke was the only one who really had a relationship with the Droids, so it almost makes more sense that they are standing vigil on the planet where Luke is doing his mad scenes. Unless, of course, Leia actually needs a protocol droid!

Then at some point in the trilogy, Han (and maybe Chewy) will be killed off. Will Chewy survive and operate the Falcon with Daisy sitting in her dad's chair? Will Han, Chewy AND the Falcon all go blooey? Will Leia be there for a farewell/reconciliation scene? Will All the major characters be there to give Han a sendoff? I sure hope so, but it's just as possible that Han, Chewy and the Falcon will dive kamikaze into a star destroyer, and Luke and Leia will never see them again. Luke and Leia, so we are told, get their own movie at some point in the trilogy, supposedly, though that could just mean that they are together interacting and have a poignant scene or two. One thing is certain: Han won't be there. Even if he isn't dead. Han is (so we're told) estranged from Leia, with their daughter as their primary link. Luke is estranged from everyone, including Han and Chewy. The crisis will be resolved primarily by the young characters. Ergo, the Big Three are never again in a scene together as a group, and the droids will likely be used to attach continuity to the younger characters, so they will interact with them more than the OT heroes.

This, my dears, is what happens when your sequel is meant as a prelude to other films, not primarily as a winding up and farewell to old characters and plot lines.

 

If Han does die, then I could totally believe this. But I believe the OP's source is still fake.

 

You make a valid point but there is no law that the new three and the old three (I concur they are a sextet but chewie and the droids will join the new 3 I think) however in both ANH and ROTJ there were rally/planning scenes. In these scenes everybody and their uncle were able to get together all at the same time. So if logistics line up like this it is completely possible that everyone is all together. We already have what looks to be Leia, Luke, R2 and whoever You is altogether. The assumption based on speculation is that Finn and Rey are the force sensitive ones so one or both should be there. I don't think its hard to imagine that more might not be there considering that this all looks to be first act and on Jakku.
