    What else we need to speculate about?

    What about...

    Gee, Luke's mechanical hand is a mess!
    And probably an outdated technology!

    Even C3PO is getting fixed with new arm in TLJ.

    Do you think Luke will have a brand new hand by the end of The Last Jedi?

    Maybe one that is more advanced that the one he received at the end of Empire Strikes Back.

    Do you think we will see that on screen? How would it look? Special functionalities?

    It would mirror perfectly him getting his hand replaced at the end of Empire... and Anakin getting his creepy Golden artificial arm in AOTC.

    What if Luke gets back a REAL hand?

    Like a transplant or an artificial one that looks like a real one.

    Because, let's say it: it sucks in the trailer.

    Hmmm, what if he purposefully keeps outdated tech as a reminder of the risk of losing oneself to technology over the organic? Maybe it even brings him a sort of *pain* that he draws on? Since he's possibly flirting with the dark side... maybe this is something he shared with his father?

    That said, I don't think it's THAT BAD in the trailer. It's supposed to be the same one we already saw in ESB (dated by today's standards of course) after all.

    Well... not that it's horrifying... just that it's probably malfunctioning and outdated.
    If Luke leaves Arch-To for a medical bay on one of the Resistance ships.... chances are he'll b offered to upgrade it.
    What about one that has a light saber integrated?

    Or one interchangeable depending on the occasion?

    I think since they found Luke's lightsaber......perhaps meybe they found his original hand too. So....they re attach his old hand. I'm pretty damn sure Maz has it in that box of her's.

    They can clone an entire bounty hunter called Jango Fett and make thousands of Clone Troopers copies with his DNA. Yet the cloners/medics can't clone one new hand from Lukes DNA and then sew it on Lukes wrist? Cloning was first mentioned in ANH, specifically inside Ben's house on Tatooine, "the Clone Wars?" Luke asked. So George knew about cloning, even back in '76-'77.

    Maybe Snoke was cloned from Mark Hamill's hand. The experiment turned awfully wrong. He didn't wash his hand after his trip to Dagobah.
