In a preview published exclusively by Multiversity ComicsStar Wars Issue #35 features Luke purifying a red kyber crystal. Written by Star Wars comic and book veteran Charles Soule, with penciling by Madibek Musabekov, and cover art by Stephen Segovia, Star Wars issue #35 will hit comic book stores and digital shelves on June 7. The synopsis of the comic has been provided below by the series' publisher, Marvel.

A few pages of the preview have also been posted below. To check out the full preview, showcasing more of Luke delving into the power and history of the red kyber crystal, check out the article posted by Multiversity Comics.

[IMG] Luke and Gretta interacting with Dr. Cuata, who shows them a red kyber crystal.

[IMG] Gretta explains to Luke how a red kyber crystal can be reverted back to its original form, as Luke then attempts to connect with the crystal's history.

In our review of the Star Wars comic series' previous issue, our very own Josh Atkins gave it a rating of 7/10. The previous issues saw Luke's yellow lightsaber destroyed by killdroid. In issue #34, Luke ventured to the planet Christophsis in hopes of building a new lightsaber. Fans of The Clone Wars may remember the planet Christophsis from the animated movie and TV series. There, he met a mysterious character named Gretta, who looks to help Luke on his mission.

"I see you have constructed a new lightsaber. Your skills are complete. Indeed you are powerful, as the emperor has foreseen."

I'm in to this. Luke (potentially, anyway) didn't just build a new lightsaber like any other Padawan could have. He 'redeemed' its soul first - like we know he's going to do with his own father. Lovely :)
