    http://makingstarwars.net/2014/11/fun-speculative-rumor-captain-rexs-connection-star-wars-rebels/

Jason at @MakingStarWars posted this article and I think it's funny because I had the same belief that these two characters are connected. I heard the voice in Rebels and I though for sure it was the same as the Clones in TCW. Did a quick internet check, and I was right! Dee Bradley Baker did the voice.

    What do you think?

Here's a picture of a fan's interpretation of what Rex could look like in Rebels.

Ezra does look like the actor who played the young Boba Fett. It also might explain his obsession with helmets, since they could remind him of his father.

If Bridger is Rex, maybe old Rex by the time of Episode 7 would look a bit like this?

Not a chance. Rex, like his comrades, have accelerated aging in their genes. I hate to say it, but Rex is long-dead by the time of the ST.

In fact, the more I have thought about it, the more I realized that it is nearly impossible for Rex to be Ephraim as he would have had to impregnate Ezra's mother before Episode III begins. With Ezra, Luke & Leia all being born on the same day (Empire Day) this doesn't quite work in the timeline. He could be the son of another clone, though, most certainly.

That assumes that the accelerated aging is constant and not something applied for a time and then they change the doping regiment to keep them strong and vital for longer than normal.

The accelerated aging is just to mature them faster - an artificial process. They don't continue to rapidly age. They even address this in the Clone Wars. #99 was a flawed specimen because he continued aging at the accelerated rate and was an old man in the Clone Wars.

I will give you that. Something I did overlook. What cannot be disputed is that the time that Rex would be bangin' Ezra's momma to produce him, he was fighting in various worlds alongside Anakin and his Clone bretheren. Remember: Ezra, Luke & Leia all share the exact same birthday, aka Empire Day. The timing makes it impossible for this to be Rex, despite how freaking cool it would be.

    I'm not arguing that point.
The way the episodes played, in no way hinted that there was any great mystery as to who his father was. The mystery was what happened to Ezra's parents and what their fate is. Besides, I think Rex is Max Von Sydow in Star Wars 7. The alcoholic cyborg on Tatoonie who has dealings with Rey xD

True, but in no way was The Clone Wars fully ended. It reaches pretty close, but there's still enough time for Rex to leave after seeing Fives die in his hands, or the fact Krell almost executed him and mercilessly slaughtered his other clone brothers. He could become just like that farmer clone we saw, seeing how Rex was both his own man and was most certainly affected by Domino Squad.

Then again, I think Rex remained a loyalist and had a long and distinguished Imperial career and eventually retired with honors. He WAS right there next to Anakin sans Darth Vader at the temple slaughter in the 3rd movie.

Actually, no. That was Appo, who is now a Commander. That's what makes this possibility so intriguing.

    EDIT: Quote from Wookiepedia.

By the year 19 BBY,[8] Rex was no longer in command of the 501st Legion, with the newly promoted Commander Appo assuming his leadership position.[183][233] As a result, it was Appo and not Rex who oversaw the 501st through the endof the Clone Wars and into the time of the first Galactic Empire, the product of Palpatine's reorganization of the Republic.

Ah well, getting something wrong from the prequels is fine by me.

Apparently he wasn't even in the prequels. He's just in the cartoon series.

That just goes to show how little I watched the prequels. heh

Guess i just assumed the guy in blue and white armor next to Vader at the jedi purge was him.
Now I like him even more knowing he's not a child murderer.

Yah, it's a sudden change. he's just part of Torrent Company under Rex, and then in Episode 3, BOOOM, Commander of the 501st.

The fact that Rex and Ahsoka were both created for the series and are both 'gone' by episode 3 .. I now come to think that he left service and sought her out.

THAT would be a cool series.. those two off as a fighting duo, something like righteous bounty hunters or galactic rangers having adventures together during the dark times. Righting wrongs and defending the weak along the outer rim.

I thought the accelerated aging was a result of genetic engineering. Boba Fett was the unaltered clone, not the one who wasn't taking his meds.

If Anakin and Padme could find the time while he was off fighting a war alongside Rex, Rex could.
