Carrie Fisher in a panel today let slip that Leia might use The Force In Episode 8.

I can't imagine her suddenly using the force full-on as it would be out of her character based on how we know her and the way she's developed.

 

Medal bikini? Did she win the Miss Universe Olympics?

I hope she does us the force in VIII, but in a minimal amount.

 

Interesting. The thing with Carrie is that she, like Mark, is a pro at trolling us fans in a humorous and fun livening way. Her humor also makes it very hard to determine when to take her seriously or not.

 

I've always been interested in seeing how far Leia could develop her force abilities, it's quite obvious towards the end of TFA when Han dies that she could sense it well before she learnt of what happened so the link is definitely still there.

 

You can use the force if your force sensitive. Training enhances it. If she is sad, mad, angry it could come out as a result of desperation. Every force power was learned at one point by accident by someone.

 

i think that Carrie knows that she is the only cast member that can 'kinda' get away with slipping up on the NDA stuff.

I reckon there is a crumb of info there for us, but 'help with floating' could mean a plethora of different things:-

using the force
being moved by another force user
being a force ghost
being in a bacta tank?

I read a lot of comments of people wondering that Leia using the Force would be out of her character since even when we know she's FS, it seems like she never trained formally in the ways of the Force and become a Jedi like her twin brother.

Really? Is that hard to believe?

There is a quote from Harry Potter that says "It is not our abilities that show what we truly are. It is our choices." Before learning she was
FS, I reckon she was using the Force without knowing so. Her diplomatic skills, her intuition, her ability to "read" people and her resistance to the torture her own father inflicted upon her. Maybe so far she didn't give out a enormous display of Force abilities either because she didn't think she was able to do it or simple because SHE DIDN'T WANT TO. We do know she is conflicted with her Skywalker heritage, and maybe that is blocking her to live up to her full potential.

So having said that, if she ends up using the Force in such a greater way than she has done so far, fine with me.

 

I said it before, and I still think she should use some more visible force ability. She does not need to be a Jedi. Just force push a few troopers in desperation. Or meet his son and also push him away from harming resistance people.

 

was her sensing the death of Han not a massive show of force powers?

to me that seems like a bigger display of powers than force pushing someone or moving a few rocks.

 

My theory there was that she was sensing the utter act of evil her son had done of killing her father. I mean, as much as I love Han and Leia and their love-story, from what we read in "Aftermath: Life Debt" I reckon she had this Force link with her son, and on this case she could sense her son killing her father.

 

eek, i presumed Leia was sensing Han's death.. it never crossed my mind that she had felt what her son had done.

i've gotta say.. that freaked me out a bit lol.

 

I'm likely just repeating what many people have said but seeing Leia using the force will interesting not just that it will cool to see the consequences of her doing so. How people will react.
Also, just throwing it out there I wanna see Gary in one of the films.

 

Floating through the air: Early rumors had Leia injured for much of the film.

I would guess that there was an explosion on a resistance ship (according to the MSW space bombs story) and she is unconscious or gravely injured floating around a ship after the artificial gravity failed.

 

Gary rules. Yeaaah they should include him!

I'm surprised she revealed that, but hey it's about time, we can't have Luke having 9 tenths of possession of the force, judging by this pic Gary may it too, looks like he's got it by the grip of his tongue.
