Sorry, guess I missed the part where this was a joke. And, Mad Max absolutely was a feminist movie. George Miller and Theron both stated this blatantly. It was meant to make a statement, and it did. I just didn't care for it.

 

You're probably right. The fact that I didn't like a movie that had great visual effects and a plot with massive holes probably does mean I'm wrong and because you did like it makes you right. This world is so much more interesting when we all have the same opinions and like the same things.

 

Okay, I'm neither derailing your awesome "what if Chewy is a girl" thread now saying things that aren't true.
1. the director of Mad Max, George Miller stated it is a movie with feministic undertones.
2. the main actress, Charlize Theron, also made similar statements.
3. the movie plot is her rescuing women who are used as baby makers for the films main antagonist.
4. Furiosa is the main character, and Mad Max gets his butt kicked by her and outsmarted by her.
5. the whole idealogy is that women can be heroes too, not just used to reproduce, fact, not untrue statement
6. multiple plot holes. ie, going back the way they came and avoiding the mudpits and storms..and in 1 hour!

I watched it on opening night and while it had many positives, I just didn't care for it. It lacked the originality of the Road Warrior and the spirit of Thunderdome. If I didn't like action films, I probably wouldn't be on a Star Wars fansite, would I?

Now, we can talk more about how Chewy being a female would kill the bromance of Han and Chewbacca!
