Daisy Ridley/Kathleen Kennedy talk "family" on Japanese TV

in my opinion, it means absolutely nothing. it could mean solo, it could mean skywalker.. it could mean kenobi. all of those last names are solitary at some point. but it could also mean she's not related to anyone.. they intentionally had her say that.

 

I guess we will know until we see the movie... or maybe not (what if they pull a ESB and leave it until Ep. VIII.

 

That's as far as we know when it comes to Luke's "solitary confinement."

 

The interview with Glamour UK magazine (January 2016 issue). Usually interviews for monthly print are conducted a good long while before they're released. She probably hadn't seen the movie before this.

Of course, she still to date has never denied it.

 

the whole comparison photos could actually be PR trying to save her. To be honest at this point it don't matter. However, its seems like a conspiracy.......lol

 

It's because the name "Solo" actually means "solitary"; and though you have a bunch of solitary characters in SW, you've only got one character with a name that actually means "solitary"- it's got to be why Daisy stumbled on her words, because she realized that her words could give something away because 'solitary' actual points at the name 'solo'

 

"Solo" means "alone" or "lonely" in spanish

 

May be KK laughed because she knew people will think the wrong way.

And she deleted the Instagram picture! Either was previously planned or she was told to remove it. Lol I reposted anyway before she deleted it lol.

 

I mean, I feel like she would get in trouble just for the Kylo Ren implication which I think is a way bigger secret to the general unspoiled public than anything to do with Rey. For sure, the comments section indicate that people felt her post was spoiler-y.

Exactly. They've pretty much already sold out the opening day and the night before. Money is in the bank. For everyone else seeing it later, the details of the movie will be out if they want to be spoiled. At this point, I don't consider hints a big deal. Nor should TPTB.

 

Agree. I mean, there were more than 6 pics so she might have got away with it by posting all of them lol. A friend just told me it was still on her FB page though.

 

There were some complaining instagram commenters on that post that she was spoiling the movie. Usually Ridley would add disclaimers to her tweets or instagram posts, such as:

Daisy Ridley (Instagram): "(guys this isn't a spoiler alert [about me and the Force], we are messing around!)" (September 28, 2015)

Daisy Ridley (twitter): "that time I made best pals with Gary! BEST DOG! (Best family!) @carrieffisher @imeanwhat" "I said 'family' cause Gary is like a child and Carrie, Abe and Billie are wonderful, nothing more than that!" (September 18, 2014)

 

Of course we've had huge spoilers for months now, but you have to seek them out and make the decision to read them. People following an actress' Instagram account are not all in the know about spoilers and some may be actively trying to avoid spoilers altogether. Whatever her intent was in posting that, even if it ends up being bs, the fact is a lot of the comments took it as a spoiler and some people felt like they had been spoiled in some way by seeing it. It's not like she can just respond and say "oh hey guys that wasn't a spoiler!" cause that too would be a spoiler.
