Dantooine?

OOOoo, I would love to see Dantooine, have wondered about that planet since I was a kid , mostly because it sounds so much like "tatooine" but i was Always thinking that they were in the same solar system, maybe even Twin planets (or a moon) & that there were some kind of Connection between Dantooine & Tattooine & it would be cool (if there is a Connection) that one is a fruitless desert & the other is a lush planet full of plantlife

 

I was the same growing up. I assumed they were close together and the opposite of each other too. I always pictured it kind of like Endor, but with more open grasslands.

 

It would be great to see Dantooine !
the picture of the falcon and Xwing in that Dantooine-like setting really do stir up thoughts of KOTOR 1.

I would love to see a new main character go through some form of jedi training/test with a lightsaber building element and maybe even feature crystal caves.

here's a thought.. could the filming in Skellig Michael be daisy ridleys character on a crystal cave adventure on Dantooine? (overseen by Luke of course as he was on set there)

i'm aware that i'm putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 2,468 lol but its fun to guess.

Oh my God! As someone that has beaten KOTOR at least a thousand times Dantooine in Episode 7 just makes me so damn happy. I have got to warn Luke about the Kath Hounds they can be annoying little pricks.

It's either that or for the last thirty years, they have been mowing Yavin IV.

 

I hope it is Dantooine. I always wanted to see it when they mentioned it in Star Wars. Like you guys, I figured it was in the same solar system as Tatooine. It'd be like finding a missing piece of my childhood, even if they are only there for a few scenes.

 

Viral, that's a great idea as far as this maybe being Dantooine. I know it's total speculation, of course, but it sure would be a great call-back to ANH to have our heroes meeting up at the deserted old Rebel base on Dantooine. THOSE are the kinds of little touches that I think would make the efforts to tie the ST to the OT really work well.

It's similar to the way I had always thought that Han's throwaway line in ANH about "outrunning starships... the big Correllian ships, now" would have been a perfect springboard for Lucas to make Correllia into an Imperial starship yard in the PT, which would have completely justified the creation of a foundry area in a volcanic region of the system where Obi Wan and Anakin could have had their battle. (Mustafar was cool and all, but it was obviously there ONLY because Lucas needed lava for Anakin to fall into/next to.)

Dantooine... it'd sure be a slick move to work THAT into Episode VII!

 

The more and more I look at the site and compare it to the KOTOR Dantooine images, the more and more I just hope that this is what's happening. If this isn't a "Dantooine" set location, then it's a hell of an uncanny visual coincidence. I just figure that the story group is acutely aware and familiar with a ton of the varied aspects of the video games and novels, so much so, that they're not overly interested in completely shying away from the "Legends-bannered" material and are looking to grant a bit of fan-service (not gratuitously, mind you) in these films.

 

Rumors of Luke's flashback scene that takes place on Yavin 4 his Jedi Academy.

1.Concept art picture here shows, some hanger bunkers, is that rectangle shaped block at the end of the road the Yavin 4 temple?


2.Concept art picture here shows X-wings under camo tarps, which also looks like that angle block looks like part of the Yavin 4 temple. Is this part at the end of the road at the rectangle shaped block in the first picture?

5.This birds eye view of the temple and its surroundings. Notice there are 9 of buildings together in the middle of the map here. These the hanger area in the above pictures? Now in the Temple has a hanger area but what we see is shown outside.

Flashback scene

-Jedi Academy = Yavin 4 gets attacked.
-Luke touching R2 morning the deaths.
-Ren thought to be dead from attacks, becomes Kylo Ren.

Main things I think will happen.

 

Either way, whatever the writers have decided to do, I really hope that we get to see more in the Massassi Temple, that'd be amazing. And given that the Massassi were one of the ancient Sith races, I think it'd be great for Luke to have uncovered some Sith artefacts and secrets whilst exploring (and presumably clearing out) the temple. Perhaps he did, and that's what Kylo Ren is after, hence Luke going into hiding.... ?

 

That's freaking dintooine not yavin 4. Did you not play kotor?

It will be interesting to see which planet this is. If it is Dantooine it would be really cool. As stated before, a nice throw back to the OT without going overboard

 

LOL no idea why my thread of Yavin 4 got merged into Viral's thread.

 

I think it may have been because both are talking about the which planet the same set and concept pieces are portraying
