The wonder of Google maps... I just spent the past hour or so romping around where the old theater is that I saw Star Wars in for the first time... the pizza parlor where I played pong for the first time is now a Taco Bell... the neighborhood nearby I used to walk through is (at the time the map was done) leveled, and the street (and house) where I lived are now a lake...

I waited online on East 34st in Manhattan with my Mudder for almost 6hrs in the blazing sun for ESB. Oh did she put up with a lot of SW nonsense from me! I was afraid that the prequels would give her seizures when she watched them on DVD. I think the whole day was like 10-11 hrs, including train ride into Manhattan.

Cards were the main thing with mom... I had such a collection of SW trading cards... her birthday would have been in a few days, I need to remember to go take flowers

Either I'm gonna see it at the Ziegfeld in Manhattan or just stay in Florida. Too cold to go back to other house in December

One of the best things about Star Wars premiere dates is most theaters will have a sold out crowd, so your bound to have a group of fans to get excited with. There are already quite a few plans for lines being formed around the DC area (for those who want the line experience). Is it December yet? It seems so far off off, but think about this...6 months.

A sort of Update! Confirmed with my Alamo Drafthouse POC that there is not yet an official date for ticket sales. Any dates you hear about on the internet are still rumors for now. I'll make sure to update this thread if I hear anything firm about when tickets will be available.

Update! Current rumors peg ticket sales being opened sometime between October 16 – 19, but when I met with our Alamo Drafthouse rep yesterday, he said they have not heard anything official. Here is the plan regardless of the sale date:

Once ticket sales and seat reservations are available at the Drafthouse, they’ll email me a reservation link. I'll update this thread with the link. Once you are able to, feel free to reserve seats for your party individually. It would be cool to sit together with fellow Cantina members in the area, but with how fast ticket will sell, this is probably unrealistic. It’s more important to me that everyone who wants to experience this premiere gets to sit with their family and friends. We’ll have time to hangout at the Drafthouse during the party leading up to the premiere.

So, subscribe to updates (with email) from this thread, and and be ready to jump online between October 16 – 19 to reserve your tickets (assuming they are ready then)!

There are 41 costumed members of the community tentatively signed up to attend. This is going to be awesome!

    It's happening!

Tickets for The Force Awakens are expected to go on sale tomorrow night. The page for reserving them at the Alamo Drafthouse where we are having our premiere party is up, but tickets aren't quite available yet. I expect them to be up either right after the new trailer debuts tomorrow night during Monday Night Football or at 10 pm EST. I'll send out another reminder once they are finally open for reserving.

Below is the link, get ready to refresh that page tomorrow night.

    Hello Star Wars Fans,

The time is finally here to reserve your tickets/seats for the Star Wars: The Force Awakens DC Premiere Party at the Alamo Drafthouse One Loudoun! Follow the link below to start reserving your seats.

    https://drafthouse.com/starwars/ashburn

The site seems to be having lots of issues with bandwidth so be patient. While you will secure a reserved seat when buying tickets, be sure to arrive before the film starts to celebrate the release of the seventh film in the Star Wars saga with food, drinks, trivia, games, and more. We’ll be joined by special guests from the local Star Wars community including the 501st Legion, Rebel Legion, Mandalorian Mercs, and the DC Star Wars Collectors club.

May the Force Be With You, Always!

Its been a while since I updated the post. Unfortunately, I was unable to procure tickets for the premiere show, but good news is this event will be amazing. The fine folks over at the Nerd Church Podcast are doing a live stream of the premiere event.

If you managed to get tickets for the opening shows on Thursday at the Alamo Drafthouse in DC, make sure to get there at 3 pm for the festivities!

I will unfortunately not be in DC for the opening, but I am still planning on being there over the Christmas break...
