SPOILER Description of Battle

Hi Guys. i am a long time lurker since pretty much day 1 of this site I think and as I have no contacts or inside info on the film I have never posted (in fact I have never posted on any site so please forgive any errors in etiquette etc).

Yesterday a friend of mine showed me a video that he had been given from a friend of his who was working on the film, specifically on props. The video showed about 30 seconds of footage of some kind of battle outside of the falcon. It was set in a forest with lots of Storm Troopers running around. There was no sound and there was lots of blue screen also. Quality was not the greatest but the stormtroopers were very clear and my best description of the people they were fighting would be uniforms similar to the Rebels from the opening scenes of episode IV. The overall feel of the scene was very OT in particular the battle of Endor.

While my friend is not a massive Star wars fan I did probe for a little more info (trying not to get too excited in case he shut up as he is aware of the security and sensitive nature).

His friend who has worked on several films said he had been working on a life size robot of a droid and had been able to walk around the falcon. He said there were several puppets involved in the film and the most interesting revelation was that he often visits forums and as yet there is a major twist that has not been guessed or even on the right path. I don't know if my friend was holding out on what it is as i suspect he didn't want to say too much in fear of getting the guy in to trouble, but he mentioned this when i asked questions about Luke being the bad guy.

Anyway, make of this what you will, but thought i would share saying as I have read loads of great info on this site. If I can get any more info from him i will post it too.

Oh!! he also said he was at the wrap party and Daisy looked hot!!!

he was very guarded about it and i had to watch it on his phone. I only got to see it once and i get the feeling he was very nervous about showing me it. There was no text at all on the video. He told me the video was among files that his friend had from working on the film. mainly word docs and some images. He said that he shouldn't have had it. He also showed me footage of the new mission impossible film. Again not a finished shot. It was of an action sequence on a motorbike (not that i was really interested in that). i wish the Star Wars scene had been a bit more juicy, but the thing that excited me was the mention of the twist still being secret.

 

Well for what it's worth i never mentioned a twist to they guy i spoke to. At best he is a very casual fan and never visits any sites and had no preconceptions about the new film. He brought up the twist subject when I mentioned Luke. So I am pretty confident there is one and I would hazard a guess it is something to do with Luke.

 

I honestly have no clue. My only other source of info apart from the conversation I had is sites like this one. So my guess is only as educated as the info I read on here.

Personally i would not like to see either a cyborg or evil Luke as I think it detracts from his story and path. For me the Saga is all about the Skywalkers and the tragedy of Anakin and a major part of that is his redemption through his son. I feel that would be tainted if Luke is evil. That being said, while my heart doesn't want this, there is no smoke without fire and unless all the cyborg/evilLuke rumours are elaborate disinformation then my head says there must be something in it.
