    Hi to ALL my friends here in The Cantina.I remember watching TLJ at my local theater there was a part that Rey said to Luke...."You don't fail Ben.Ben fail you.I will not fail you".Luke see that Rey is Strong with the FORCE.Luke mention to Rey...."Ben is STRONG with the FORCE.I see it and he scare me BUT you NOW scare me MORE".The floor open near Luke.I'm seeing Rey very STRONG with the FORCE and I REALLY don't think she are going to fail Luke when see mention it to Luke.She has everything on her side to NOT fail and became a TRUE Jedi.She is sweet and innocence when she is calm BUT when she get "Angry" then she show the real Rey.When she finish to fight she calm down very fast and think as a jedi in my opinion.When Ben told Rey at the Throne Room and the fight finish he ask Rey to LET GO EVERYTHING about the Rebels,The Jedi,The Sith to JOIN HIM to rule The Galaxy and she start crying(it was a emotional moment in this movie for me)and she said to Ben....."Please Ben DON'T go to this path".For me that part in the movie is THE MOST important thing and part in this new trilogy.It shows Rey that SHE REALLY don't want to fail Luke as a jedi.Yoda told Luke near the tree...."Rey knows ALL that ALREADY to be a jedi.How???(Will be nice to know WHY Yoda said that).WE lost Ben BUT Rey we can not lose her ".I really want to know how this trilogy will end.That throne room part REALLY show me that Rey REALLY don't want to fail Luke.I believe that....;).And you my friend....What did yo think???

    She will not fail Luke. She will help push back the dark side and destroy the Empire for good this time. I just don’t see her falling to the Dark Side especially after her decision in the throne room to not join Ben.

    She already said no to the Supreme Leader Kylo. I think Rey and Kylo have their destiny defined.

    Like you have posted above @Light Savior ;
    I also think she has already choosen her path; first in the Throne Room with the absolute "finishing move" in the "closing the falcon gangway"-scene.
    There will be no balance without her :)

    Rey did already fail Luke on the human side, she did attack him. But in the end it does not matter, because Luke did not train her, so she is not his student.

    No failure was the theme of TLJ. Hopefully the next one will have a more uplifting theme. I expect Rey to accomplish great things.

    In the times she has fought, she has shown angry willingly; which as a Jedi she isn't supposed to do. For the first time in her life she has accepted this power that she has. Though, I've always wonderered what kept her power from not growing since living on Jakku. Did someone constantly surpress it every time the power woke inside of her? It be interesting to see what happens the next time Ben and Rey meet.

    I think "no" but I hope "yes". The reason why I think "no" is because you can't have your main character fail in the finale of a trilogy. This si where good is supposed to triumph over evil and I doubt that SW has reached a point where it has become so nihilistic, that evil will win. I hope "yes" because I want Rey to be more than just the ordinary archetype of a hero. I want her to be a relateable character with flaws and everything.

    I know Rey said Ben failed her, but I think Rian's intended take was that Luke had failed Luke. Also she wasn't really his student in any appreciable way, so she couldn't fail him in that regard either. Also, I think it's clear that she rejected Ben's pathway, so she couldn't fail that way. It does raise the question, what then is possibly next? We're in the 3rd installment in the trilogy which (IMO) is too late to give her a challenge or obstacle to overcome (that's something that would've had to have been set up in TLJ). They've already established that she knows everything she needs to be a Jedi, and her power is already advanced, so I don't think you could plausibly make the case that she'll struggle to become a Jedi; she is (for all intents and purposes) already one. Even Snoke acknowledged it to some degree.

    would not surprise me if she 'is" a Kenobi. She Doesn't need to be daughter / granddaughter. She could a cousin or even niece. I do hope not - but yet; I don't think that this one is off the table. I give it around 25% chance.

    Still firmly in the random camp. As for a fall. I don't know am still 50/50.

    The time to make her a relatable character with flaws has passed. And like you said, she won't fail in the finale. She'll forever be an infallible Mary Sue who won't fail and has never even lost a fight.

    Agreed, that ship has sailed. 3rd installment is not the territory to be introducing a fall. You could get away with it in the PT because we already knew how the story eventually resolved. Making Rey fallible in 3rd installment will just compound already problematic development.

    To me, her failing and failing Luke are two different things. I do not think she will fail Luke. As has been stated, Luke didn't train her so she couldn't, but she could fail the light side and her friends. I don't she her failing it or them, but I do think she will fail with Kylo and converting him back. There are a few opposite parallels comparing to the OT. I think Kylo will be one of those opposites when compared to Anakin's story.

    I hope she will grow beyond him, though...just like Yoda said :)
