    Hello Fellow Star Wars Fans!

I was thinking about Snoke and how mysterious he is in the film, no one knows who he is/what he is and then I had a thought! A lot of people are saying he is Darth Plagueis because of hints throughout the movie and have come up with some pretty amazing theories but what if is he is not Darth Plagueis but based off the Darth Krayt character?

    Here are my thoughts.

Snoke has been around a long time, even through the clone wars and watched how events played out, this is mentioned in the novelization I think? or the script. - Well, same with Darth Krayt, he was a jedi during the clone wars who eventually turned dark.

Snoke is scarred and been through a lot of damage - So has Krayt, losing an arm to Obi-wan and eventually getting the Vong virus in his system that slowly corrodes his body

Both Snoke and Darth Krayt tempt a Skywalker( well sorta, Ben Solo but its still Skywalker blood)

Darth Talon was originally discussed to be the villain in the movie with a dark shadow lord behind her - her master. This can be seen in the Art of the Force Awakens book. She was Darth Krayt's right hand warrior in the comics.

Also Darth Krayt dis-guarded the rule of two and in the movie Snoke says he will complete Kylo's training, well we all know that the sith apprentice is supposed to kill the master to get the power. Completing Kylo's training would be Snoke dieing. Now here I assumed Snoke is a Sith but maybe he can just be a dark side user or something.

Andy Serkis also mentioned in an interview that Snoke is an original character, I can buy that but he can still be based off another character, who I believe is Darth Krayt.

    What are you thoughts? :)

Of the current Snoke theories, I think this has the most validity.

It has been stated that Snoke is not a Sith, at least not a Banite "Rule of Two" Sith. He has a large amount of knowledge of the Force, the dark side and presumably the light side, since he valued Kylo Ren for being a 'balance of both light and dark' sides of the Force. If he was a Jedi this would explain how he came across such knowledge. He's injured, disfigured. If he was a Jedi during Order 66 he could have sustained these injuries then. Since it's been said the Snoke is a new character, and was at one point going to be a woman before deciding the character be a man, I don't think he is a character we've seen or even mentioned (at least explicitly). He is likely a Jedi who survived Order 66 and felt betrayal of the Republic turned Empire and, if he personally knew Anakin, his Jedi brother turned Sith. Just like Krayt, he would come to the conclusion the the dark side is the only way to order, given that the light side failed. Since "Sith" has a few different definitions, we could argue that in a sense, Krayt was not a Sith, even the old Sith Lord ghosts called him a "pretender" and didn't acknowledge him as a true Sith. If it was the case that he did know Anakin, or was possibily maimed by Anakin, then seducing his grandson would be a fitting form of revenge/poetic justice.

From the information we've been given, Snoke being based off of Darth Krayt would be very fitting. But until we know more...

This is a great theory and could have a lot concrete points. Especially the Darth Talon part, she's in 3 or 4 pages of my Art of the Force Awakens book. They had very strong intentions to use her.

This is a very interesting theory my friend and you point out alot of interesting things. Another thing that can be added to this is the fact that not being a Sith, Snoke can indeed give better use to the Knights of Ren as he can also train anyone else apart from Kylo. Having no Sith credo to limit him, Snoke can very well have another aprentice being secretly prepared just incase Kylo looses his battle against the Light Side.

Nice theory - certainly a cool character in the EU.

It all really depends on how JJ, Kennedy and Kasdan all answered the question they posed to the artists and designers: "What is the Force capable of?"

How conscious is it? Which plays into how it interacts with the galaxy's beings - aka 'creating Anakin', or 'balancing the Force (as Lor San Tekka alluded to).

Once we know how they answered that question, we'll probably have an interesting discussion of how Snoke, Rey, Maz, San Tekka, all play into it.

Is the Dark Side always present, or does it move from being to being? Was the Force in balance when Anakin destroys the Sith? Does the Force always have to have a presence in the beings of the galaxy? And when it doesn't, how does it act? Is Luke a representative of balance or the Light only?

And now can somebody pull me out of this rabbit hole?
