    For me the movie is a 9 or maybe even a 10/10. Just like the previous part the visuals and sound editing is top notch and Disney/LF should set this as a quality goal.


    I haven't really read the novel, but I know the story and its characters. I kinda like the changes Denis Villeneuve did. Especially regarding Chani. In the second movie she is a stronger and more interesting character than in the book. Using her to show that Paul’s rise to power is not a good thing works quite well for the story.

    With her changed character her arc for Part 3 will probably change. Maybe she is the one now to bring Paul down or she at least starts with the idea.

    Villeneuve's Dune seems to be a much more grounded version of Frank Herbert's story. Am I right?

    I really liked Part One (10/10 for me), but this one didn't do it for me as much as the first one. Granted, the 3rd act in the book is also the weakest, so that makes sense. I thought it was interesting how Villeneuve made Chani the voice of reason and groundedness while Stilgar was made the voice of mad fanatism (and quite funnily so, too). I also liked Feyd-Rautha a whole lot. Other than that, it was to me a semi-boring action fest *shrug*
