it IS a skywalker saga because that is kind of the point of star wars, or at least the main trilogy

The point of the saga isn't the Skywalker family. At least for me. For me the points are:
    - becoming a family
    - redemption
    - finding your place

You don't need Skywalkers to follow these points.

Because - if I’m right and I may not be - then they won’t be interested in anything but Ep. IX.
Good for it. But the ST has to create a new generation of people into SW. All of it.
Tv series, spin off, all the things they are planning for the future...

That is why LF may even loose some of the “old” fans if the new ones are more.

I mean... that may sound brutal, but it’s fine from a business pov.

But you loose some of the old fans and the new ones are not invested in the franchise
    then it’s a problem.

Not saying that’s 100% the case.
    But it may be.

Old fans went to see Solo. But not them all.
    That’s my guess.

So the question is, to me, where are the new fans? The youngest
that do not suffer any fatigue when it comes to other franchise.
On tmbler fighting the shipping wars.

Again, I may be totally wrong.
But I’d love to see and know more about the demographics.

no, they'll just ship the next thing that comes along.
if there's one thing i've learned about shippers, it's that they are much more highly adaptable than regular fans.

Ren and Hux have a fight and no longer seem like a fun acerbic couple?
let's just switch it to Hux and Poe; they've got a spark!

also, they don't really care about the actuality or eventuality of their "ship"; most ships are completely silly (like the ones above); the fact that Ren and Hux aren't going to make out in ix isn't going to make the shippers turn off Star Wars. again, they'll just indulge their head canon and find new things to ship.

see above. and, important tip: don't go looking with Google image search. XD

If I get this right is when pushed on applying logic and evidence on one subject they ship to the next.

ship is short for "relationship", as in who is "doing" who.
it's a very silly game that results in an inordinate deluge of fanart and fanficts from a broad cross-section of fandom, though the perception is that it's mostly engaged in by teens and twenty-something women who like to fantasize about bizarre porn (which i have actually found to be not entirely true).

popular ships for Star Wars are given portmanteau names like "Reylo" (Rey and Kylo Ren), Kylux (Kylo Ren and Hux), "DarkPilot" (Kylo Ren and Poe), "StormPilot" (Finn and Poe), etc.

again: Google at our own risk.

Precisely. The evidence supporting your claim is only anecdotal. I can disprove this claim as easily by raising the example of my younger sister. She's very into Reylo. When she rewatched TFA after seeing TLJ she said that she liked VII less because there was less Reylo than in VIII. But does it mean that she skipped Solo because it had no Kylo in it? No, she watched it twice actually and liked it more than I do. Every fan has things that he or she likes the most and doesn't care too much in each franchise. For example I am very much into the Force aspect of SW and not really into the whole Rebellion vs. Empire/Resistance vs. First Order thing (well, at least until TLJ came out.) Despite that, I saw Rogue One three times in a cinema and own it on a Blu-Ray. Others like the shipping aspect of Star Wars. Does it mean that they'll miraculously stop caring about Star Wars once the Sequel Trilogy runs its course? No. I don't think so. For one thing, we will get films that aren't one-offs, like Solo or Rogue One, which means that there will be more characters to ship and which might actually get involved with one another. For other, most of them will keep on consuming Star Wars content because they grew to enjoy it. Simple as that.

I really dislike this notion that the new fans are somehow worse than the old ones because they like the same thing as you do, but in a different way. Just because you like it for x it doesn't mean that liking it for y makes you "more loyal," "better" or something along these lines. No, it doesn't. If anything, it proves the worst aspects of any fandom - gatekeeping and elitism - to be true and that is something we must fight against. Not shipping. And this comes from a person that is very not into shipping.

No need to dislike or to po8nt is anecdotical.
I said I may be wrong, that mine is nothing more than a feeling etc...

But please allow me to add that even if I am right, that doesn’t mean
there are good and bad fan. But only people interested in different thing.

    That’s all.
