Ewan McGregor has stated that he's hopeful for more seasons of Obi-Wan Kenobi as he reflects on how the series allowed him to work with old friends and explore his character's place in the framework of Star Wars.

Talking during a digital press tour to campaign to get the show recognized at upcoming awards ceremonies, McGregor had the following to say when asked about the possibility of future seasons to Obi-Wan Kenobi:

McGregor also went on to speak about his experiences with the cast and crew, noting that he wanted to return to the role even after completing work on Revenge of the Sith in the mid-2000s:

As it stands, Obi-Wan Kenobi did well for Disney Plus, and there have been rumors that Lucasfilm may do a follow-up to the series at some point. However, there has been no official word about whether or not the series will be renewed or get some kind of spin-off. With any luck, Lucasfilm may announce new projects in the months ahead, possibly as soon as Star Wars Celebration Europe 2023 in March.

You can watch the full interview below:

All six episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi are available to stream now on Disney Plus.

Nah enough is enough. I'm good. I think it would be best if they just left it alone instead of running it into the ground. We need new/fresh characters and stories. I hate even saying this as it's been said a thousand and one times in the forum.

Bring it on! I will never tire of seeing Ewan portray Obi-Wan.

I don't think his and Anakin/Vader's relationship needs much more examining, but there's plenty more Obi-Wan to explore!

I’m torn on the Obi Wan thing… I really enjoy Ewan’s portrayal and like the idea of Kenobi moving from place to place doing his thing like Kane in Kung Fu, but at the same time the more stories they tell about him the more it undermines his watchful hermit backstory which we’d been sold so many years ago.
