I was trying to find the right place to post this. I've seen tons of fan films, most of them are

    Ok I guess.

Considering the resources available. But my goodness, this Vader: Shards of the Past? This was a cut above.

less than a minute in he was already swinging his lightsaber and I groaned, but that actually got quite good, for a fan film it's an exceptional piece of work, very watchable. It's like a live action version of some very good video game cutscenes. The effects and camera work are phenomenal. Vader is extremely difficult to impersonate and the Sidious mask must have been a nightmare to get right but they were both really good.

The best part was when Vader went to visit Sidious in his office, which was pretty much the only scene that wasn't an action one. Maybe for the next episode to save cost and to give the action scenes greater context and meaning they could have a lot more dialogue and a bit less force unleashed style action. tbf though thats literally my only complaint in something fanmade that's been provided to us completely free.

    Palpatine, speaking of Mace Windu:
    wot ?
Did Mace knew anything about Darth Vader's true identity ?
Did Mace knew Anakin and Padme were married ?
Did ObiWan told evryone the truth after he learnt it from Padme (on Coruscant, episode 3, just before she jumps to Mustafar) ?

Or does Palpatine just lie once more ?

This is obviously a well-produced fan film, but I can't help getting a big whiff of "Take that, Disney!" when I watch it.

I haven't watched many fan films in years, but back in the day I enjoyed Cold Patrol. I think that's what it was called. Then there was the "cops" themed one too. This one does good keeping a serious tone. It's a little easier to get something good when played for laughs, I think.

Have you guys seen " Birth of a Monster" ? It's sick. Watch it here
. Also there's the classic Jambe documentaries for ANH doc -
    ESB
    and ROTJ
. These may be the best documentaries ever made on the OT.

Saw this today. I thought it was pretty darn awesome and well put together. Gives a modern magic feel to the classic ANH Obi Wan / Vader fight.

Even though the style of the reimagination doesn't fit with the rest of ANH, I like this. The effects are pretty astonishing and the music is also good. Some of the moves are IMO too PT like, but in a good way.

looks like a real version of the new Galaxy Adventure they keep releasing, and I like how the actor tried to mimic Hayden Christensen's fighting style.

It's pretty cool. It's only awkward because the fan made stuff is more intense than the original film. The accepted explanations for the differences in fighting styles between eras are pretty weak so something like this is a good bridge. I honestly wouldn't mind a tastefully done complete remake of the OT since it was so ahead of it's time. A remake might enhance the story further. If this level of intensity was portrayed throughout the entire escape from the Death Star it could build tension and make Obi-wan's sacrifice even more meaningful. Just something fun to think about.

Id like to see these guys redo the Luke, Vader(dark) Cloud City fight scene from TESB(1980).
The movie was good but a re-edited or updated, 2020 era format would be slick.
