So we've had quite a few Star Wars comics to dig into over the last couple years at this point. Thus far, I would say that Marvel has done a great job with the Star Wars license. Almost everything they put out seems to range from good to great, the only real exceptions being the Leia and Chewie minis IMO(and the Leia one did pay slight dividends when reading Life Debt at least, thanks to the Evaan connection).

Now that we've had a while to judge their output, I'm interested to see what the other comic readers here think is the best Marvel Star Wars Comic thus far? What do you find most appealing? Art, plot, characterization, hints about the greater Star Wars universe, what is it that hooks you?

For me personally, at this point, provided that it sticks the landing, I'm going to have to go with the currently running Han Solo mini. It just feels like the creators get Han Solo on a level that most others can't quite capture. Only three issues in and it is a joy to read. For all I know though, the next two issues could suck, so I reserve the right to change my vote at anytime ;).

I have to read a lot to catch up with all these series, but so far I'm torn between Shattered Empire and Kanan. I was really surprised by Kanan, I started reading in a very casual mood but it got me interested really fast.

I agree on Kanan, I wasn't expecting much from the series but it ended up hooking me pretty quickly.

I've loved alot. Only ones I still haven't read are Kanan and Leia.

Han Solo has been fun so far, but it's hard to judge it until it's done. Darth Vader and Star Wars have been intermittently great and then not so much, the risks of any ongoing series.

So my vote will go to Lando. It's small, it's connections are limited, but It's just a greatly written little self contained story that provides insight into Lando's character, adding more depth to ESB in the process. Sometimes those smaller stories soar higher than the big ones because they can actually focus on a character instead of being too bogged down in getting from point A to point B.

There is no way I can vote for one. Kanan, Darth Vader and Lando share the spot and it seems Han Solo will eventually join them as well.

    Kanan
gave us an insight in lesser known time period between two trilogies as well as the ending of the Clone Wars and what survivors of Jedi pogrom had to do to stay alive. We learned how Kanan became Kanan, secondary characters were excellent, art was gorgeous.

Darth Vader was more consistent of the two (so far) on-going series. It gave us Vader we always wanted to see although he is at disadvantage here because he lost Palpatine's confidence. Nice insight into his psyche, great secondary characters, good stuff. I am sorry it's ending.

Lando was the biggest surprise to me. I wasn't expecting much and I got some Sith lore, great characters and stab through the heart - who could possibly imagine that we will care for Lobot. The art was also special, not your run-of-the-mill comic.

So, you see - I can't possibly vote for one. :)

I really Liked Lando. Every issue got better more intriguing. The reveal about Lobot was well done. Always wondered about Lando and Lobot. Any who I'm loving the Han Solo series can't wait to see how it ends up! Here's to hoping Han becomes ongoing!

Lando is great, prior to Han Solo it was definitely my number one, and depending on how Han Solo ends, it could even switch back to that position. I loved the added context given to Lando and Lobot's friendship, plus the little tidbits about the Sith were great. The only thing I would dock it points for were the weird androgynous Panther people, but that was a very minor annoyance though.

I don't blame you, there's been a lot of good stuff to choose from so far. I'm with @Rebo though, I think the smaller more focused stories have an easier time maintaining their quality and focus more often than not. That's why the mini series are scoring slightly higher in my book(even though I still love both the the Star Wars and Vader series).

I finally voted for Lando, because it was the most surprising, but I could have easily voted for the other two I mentioned above.

That is a hard choice. I have been enjoying all of them a lot!

I reckon it is unfair to compare the long running series with the mini-series. For example, I have enjoyed Star Wars and Darth Vader a lot, but I guess the crossover I loved was Vader Down.

Kanan got my attention after I started watching Rebels so it was a pleasant surprise.

Obviously, so far Han Solo has been quite a good mini-series (a plus since even if it wasn't, I'm partial to anything related to that Corellian scoundrel). And even when Princess Leia was not great, I found most of the stuff we learned and the connections later (with Life Debt) quite endearing. (And again, I'm partial there too!).

A nice surprise I've got is with the Obi-Wan interludes on the Star Wars comics. I definitely pray to the Old Gods and the New that TPTB decide at one point to make a spin-off movie with Ewan McGregor since these issues have been really good.

I'm puzzled by the mini-series "Obi-Wan and Anakin" though. I'm guessing they will tie what we learned on those issues in some way for future canon material.

Out of what I've read... Han Solo, Darth Vader and Lando are my top three, closely followed by Star Wars and Kanan. I think I enjoyed Obi Wan and Anakin more than most people. Poe Dameron is hit and miss, I enjoyed the latest issue, hope it keeps to that standard. Princess Leia was disappointing.

I am in the same boat with catching up on all these great comics. For me I love Kanan. I love anything that tells me more about star wars during the prequel era. That whole era has so much potential for great stories and this comic shows you just that.
