I always loved how Eric Forman in That 70's Show was obsessed with Star Wars. In fact, I recall his father Red often criticizing him because of it, particularly in the episode where he's fanatical after the release of it.

The best part is when Red somehow gets hooked into going to see the film. He clearly has no real hope for it, seeing it as a stupid nuisance. However as soon as the film starts with the good ol' Star Destroyer scene, his look of contempt turns into a look of amazement and delight.

Can't seem to find a clip at the moment though.

Yeah, that show had some really good ones! In fact IIRC they had a whole episode about going to see ANH for the first time.

That may have been the same episode in which they act out altered scenes of all the ANH stuff.

There's been a lot of songs with SW references -- I have a whole burned CD with them.

White Towm - "Your woman" = Imperial March
Everclear - "Wonderful" = SW poster on my bedroom door
Bloodhoud Gang - "The roof is on fire" = "I'm kinda like Han Solo always stroking my own wookiee . . ."

Then there's an awesome rock version of the Imperial March

    Awww youth....
That 70s Show was a Fox TV sitcom. The big "Star Wars" episode was a cross-over/tie-in/synergy to the 1997 release of the Star Wars anniversary/special editions. I saw ANH & TESB in theaters again in 1997.
It was funny to hear the "reworked" Luke scream when he plunges off the platform in Cloud City. Luke(Mark Hamill) shrieks like a young girl.
It's so bizarre & out-of-context that it's almost funny. I noticed ILM or Lucas cut the audio(scream) in later broadcast/video versions of TESB.

An easy one to over-look but a sweet/funny ad was the VW ad with the young boy dressed as Darth Vader.
It's on Youtube if you don't remember it. :)

It aired during a Super Bowl 2/3 years ago.

The kid is great! Best commercial for that entire year! The first time I saw it I jumped up and screamed -- CLASSIC! :)

A somewhat recent reference that was cool was the vintage SW Figure scene at the end of the film Argo.

    A real-life reference-

Many years ago, I married this cute little babe who just so happened to be as big a Star Wars fan as me, as well as a having a match to my sometimes offbeat sense of humor. At the the wedding, it was a big one, and I was a nervous wreck. When it came time to put the ring on her finger, I hesitated, because my hands were shaking. She looks me in the eye, smiles, and says in her best Brit accent "Use The Force Luke".

    True story...

Big Bang Theory has so many SW references it's like shooting monkeys in a barrel. Anyway, they had one episode where Raj entered the comic book store to the Imperial March as played from a speaker in his shirt -- hilarious!

And another episode where Sheldon goes Sidious:

As I was watching Peter Pan Live on NBC tonight, I caught a glimpse of a very familiar symbol tattooed on Mr. Smee's left arm.

    Anyone else see this?
