Hello cantina, I was watching the some battlefront beta gameplay and made me think. Will there be Force awakens video game that directly follows the movie but more in depth. Similar to how they have novels come out after the movies but in the medium of a video game. I think it would be awesome to play as rey or finn or poe in an xwing.

If so, will force awaken characters and story lines continue to seep into other things after the movie is released? Not just new toys and merchandise. Will older force awakens characters or ancestors of force awaken characters show up in rebels or new tv shows? Will there be a DLC expansion pack for battlefront to play as first order and resistance kind of like how you could play as clones and CIS in battlefront 2? It would be awesome to be Kylo Ren and chop down some resistance scum :)

lemme know what you guys think :)

I thought I heard something about Disney not wanting to make movie-tie-in games... which I think would be kind of sad, because I really want to see a Lego Star Wars Sequel trilogy after IX is released. I'm all for original side stories and stuff in games, but avoiding the story of the movies seems like a wasted opportunity.

I'm still waiting for a proper Star Wars game that adequately delivers a complete Star Wars experience.
Rogue Squadron and X-Wing/TIE Fighter had a lot of space, but not much else.
Shadows of the Empire had space and on-foot, but no Jedi/Force.
Jedi Knight had Jedi/Force and on-foot, but no space.
Battlefront has really simplistic Jedi, but no space (BFII space was miserable.... and the new game skips it entirely) or narrative.
Knights of the Old Republic had an excellent story, and a lot of Jedi/Force, with some real basic space stuff, and gave you a lot of freedom to explore... but it was mostly a little too much on the turn-based side of things.

Lego Star Wars has everything, albeit at a real simple level.

I don't think they will make any games that directly tie into the ST but they will make games that help build the new canon much like Uprising but more closely to the timeline of the ST.

I absolutely love Lego Star Wars as well. Teams that would be unfortunate if they didn't have one for the sequel trilogy. It's such a fun game and there are so many side characters and aliens that you can play as and explore that were just simply cameos and fillers in the movie

I'm all for that as long as they're better than uprising. Uprising to me is super flat and boring

The only thing that I know of is The Force Awakens playset for Disney Infinity, but I've never played Infinity, so I don't know how in depth, or close to the script we can expect it to hew.

In particular I wouldn't be surprised if we see MvS's character in Rebels or other similar works as he's old enough to be around then, but it really depends on who he's actually playing I guess.

If its another mobile device game then it will probably be somewhere around the same quality. If they can make a console game that ties into the SW universe then I'd imagine it wouldn't be flat and boring at all.

No official Star Wars The Force Awakens game is being made. Right now you can play Star Wars The Old Republic(PC Only MMO) which has an expansion coming out later this month. Battlefront(PC,PS4,Xbone Multiplayer Shooter) as you mentioned, comes out next month. EA has a game under development from some of the main people behind Uncharted, so it seems like a Star Wars uncharted type game(3rd person Action Adventure, rumor is could be a Han Solo game). Those are the only games coming out or confirmed to be in development at this time. I'm not counting mobile games or tie ins like infinity.

There are three little Disney Infinity fans in my house. I'm sure I will play the TFA Infinity game at some point, but my wallet can't handle that game too much longer. Right now, I'm being pestered for two new playsets, the racing expansion game, and about a dozen figures!?!?

As to Lego Star Wars, I'd like a remake if the original Lego Star Wars with a lot of the better mechanics and open world features of the more recent Lego releases like Marvel Superheros and LOTR, which are also big hits among my little ones.

I've heard that game is very expensive for parents. There is a funny Honest Trailer about it on Youtube.
