Funniest PT Moments.

What made me laugh was when Obi-Wan says, "Another happy landing" in ROTS. The "soothing noises that the robots/aliens make in ROTS, When Jango Fett gets his head cut off in AOTC, when Jar Jar becomes a general in TPM, watching Maul fall in two pieces down the core of Naboo, the weird voices of the people landing in the ship in the opening sequence of TPM, Padme being a fighter at 14 years old JUST BECAUSE, etc. I could easily go on and on. But it did have its moments, as you said.

 

There are a few good lines in that ROTS scene.

"We've lost something."
"Don't worry, we are still flying half a ship."

 

I liked the chase through Coruscant between Obi Wan & Anakins against Padme's assassin, when they lost the assassin Anakin leaps out of the ship saying:

Anakin: Excuse me master.
Obi Wan: I hate it when he does that.

 

I voted "Death Sticks" - it's also too awesome to see Obi Wan go into a bar, and funny that he's getting a drink. (sets up ANH well)

Other moments off the top of my head:

1. Yoda picking up his walking stick and limping after driving off Dooku in a furious barrage that makes most Jedi look old, and saving Obi and Anakin.
2. R2, pretty much everywhere... (EP3 "you stupid astro droid"... hiding communicator in his side while Ani is trying to get through to him)
3. As much as people rag on Jar Jar, he's the ultimate klutz, and getting his face frozen after Anakin warns him to watch it is great.
4. Viceroy: "I'm not going in there with a Jedi.... send the droid...."
5. Obi Wan one-liners are great contenders: "another happy landing", "so uncivilized", etc.
6. Dumb battle droids banter about whether they should let Jedi through / making decisions in general / regretting the decisions they make.
7. Yoda teasing Obi-wan: "Lost a planet Obi-wan has..."
8. C3P0 meeting R2: "My parts are showing?"

 

Death Sticks.

But there is many funny moments that are not in the poll, and there is many in the poll that I do not find funny.

R2D2 and C3PO have many funny moments in PT.

ya'll are going to friggin hate me, ya'll are going to despise me... but to me the funniest moment (taht was intended to be funny)

was when Jar Jar called Qui-gon out on his BS in TPM.

Its weird that despite how awful Jar Jar was, he had one great moment that showed what he could have been. He could have been the reluctant tag-along, forced to go alogn with the Jedi because of his religious values... and thus he could have been a religious character that contrasted with the jedi.

of course it was immediatly ruined by an insane spout of gibberish sillieness from his mouth, but DAMMIT HE HAD A POINT!

 

Also, Padmés funeral .

 

Palpatine being "surprised" to get nominted for Chancellor and "reluctant" to accept emergency powers.

 

As much as I think the humour in the prequels generally fails, I must confess that I have a soft spot for Threepio's bad one liners in Clones in a "so bad they're good" kind of way.

 

How about "Now this is podracing!" Gets me everytime.

 

"Me? Really? Oh me oh my, my heart can't take this, I need to sit..."

Apart from Artoo vs. Super Battle Droid (when he gets kicked over), I think the only genuinely 'funny' bits were in the Geonosian arena in AOTC.

- "We came to rescue you." / "Good job."
- Kit Fisto and Threepio.
- "This is such a drag."

The rest... I think Anakin and Padme could have had a funny rapport, but Lucas kept trying to insert Han-and-Leia-isms into a relationship that was nothing like Han and Leia's. Anakin and Obi-Wan had a few moments during the AOTC speeder chase and the Invisible Hand sequences, but the latter especially was too little, too late.
