Jeez guys The geekster guy did give it 7.5 calling it an entertaining good film and he would recommend it,

And that's the worst review we've seen so far.

Promising signs, seems like the nostalgia factor will be what makes the movie just a good solid entry to the saga to some people and amazing to others.

Can't wait till the 17th.

You're assuming LK, KK, & JJ didn't realize they were covering well trodden ground.

I think LK's recent statements regarding his desire to move on from SW are his very savvy way of saying, "I lost too many battles over branching out in new directions and while the work paid well, I want to create, not repeat."

Don't forget Kasdan has said what he loved about the story outline GL gave him for ESB was that "after a rousing start they didn't just drum up another adventure. Things immediately all go to hell" (that's almost an exact quote). Also, he agreed with Ford's idea to kill off Solo in ROTJ, adding "I felt someone had to go, and we needed to do it very early in the film, so the audience would worry about all the characters.."

Kasdan wrote and directed three of the best, most creative movies of all time. Body Heat is great movie, Big Chill is in the top 50, and Silverado is arguably the best western of the last 40 years that doesn't star Clint Eastwood (It's a fun western, something Eastwood doesn't understand).

I'd bet anything he wanted to take some risks, but TFA needs to be a crowd pleaser so Disney and LF can make 20 more SW movies.

Hollywood isn't about creativity much of the time, it's about serving more gruel to a public with their bowls held expectantly yet with a fickleness that is often hard to predict, and usually impossible to overcome.

Just to remind you guys, the movie is out in france now and it ended 5 minutes ago. From that point of view, there is no need for a press screening anymore.
Of course I don't know if that review is true.

Yup, but still it's a WORLD WIDE embargo that lifts 12:01AM PST Dec 16th. Only first impressions are allowed to be released with no plot details at all. After 12:01AM, all bets are off! Unless the Embargo lifts early which has happened in the past. Jurassic World is a good example of that. Was suppose to lift the day the movie came out but it lifted a week (maybe a week and a half) early.

 

Seems like a very honest review. Never expected it to be perfect. Like the PT it will improve with every film. At least it's on a much better start than the PT. I think i will be satisfied. No more reviews for me. Going black.

 

2:10 AM in France, you are right. I wonder how they are going to keep those reviews from getting out then haha. I can't imagine them signing NDAs while entering the theater.

It's interesting that 7 hours after the France midnight showings get out the World Wide NDA is lifted. Kinda screws over the North America Reviewers in a way.

 

I don't think this breaks the embargo, good fair review no major spoilers.

 

...I had to sign an NDA until at least tomorrow but I'm not saying anything still because I'm scared of Shitney.

 

12:01AM PST Dec 16th is when ours lifts if you signed the NDA.
