It's reddit fodder... I went back and read the entire thread (not just this subsection) and found it non-credible... Hamill has been seen at multiple locations, so I highly doubt he was "filmed in one day"

[EDIT]That's not a slam on you... good job on bringing it in... who knows what might be useful, right?

From what I've paid attention over the course of the production, Hamill's role doesn't seem very large at all. For all we know he just did filming in mid-July before that interview with Lizo Mzimba and in late July in Ireland and that could be it. He wasn't in Abu Dhabi as far as we can tell, and then he did Star Wars Weekends in early June. He returned to England in late October with that big beard that he hadn't touched without the presence of the stylist and could have just kept it in case something needed to be reshot at the end...or could have been additional scenes. No way to know. On Halloween we saw it was gone. His older Luke character may be ornery but it seems strange to confuse the man with the role he's playing (method acting maybe! ha.) Though I did see some guy on twitter complaining he wouldn't sign autographs outside the wrap party.

They kept him there all that time... it wasn't because they liked his smiling face around the set. Not trying to be a smart-ass about it, but one would assume there are costs to keeping an actor around set. While I do think JJ is doing some hokey stuff to throw people off track, paying someone actor's wages to sit around and do nothing so their presence will throw people off just seems... extreme...

I will agree that his role is probably not the biggest, but if he was there all that time, he was doing something... and perhaps that time was spent practicing for a fight, or something else not on camera... but something

Yeah, seems to me that Hamill only did shooting at the end of July and October. And wasn't a source from Irish filming industry basically said that the Skellig Michael scene is the end of the movie?

Yeah. I think people know that's been said by now so it's not that obscure.

They filmed all of Mark Hamill's scenes in one day? Doubtful. There is proof that he was on set Skellig Michael set, and given that he was still growing his beard after that, it was likely that they needed Luke's Epic Man Beard for other scenes. Plus, there's evidence that when Mark Hamill shaved his beard, he was still needed for the last three days of shooting. I think there was just some miscommunication on the set or something.

Not to go on a wide birth of speculation but if Luke's scenes are spread out that way, then it may mean he's not in much of TFA.
It's reported that of the OC(original cast), Harrison Ford has the most lines/scenes.
Luke's "non beard" stuff may be for a flash-back scene or a prologue then the script/story moves ahead 15/20 years.

Id think Luke wouldn't just be in the final moments(possible exposed as the "grave robber"/masked Zorro). That would be a big let down to long time Star Wars fans. He may set up a larger role in EP8 but Luke should be in TFA more.

I seriously doubt there will be any "flash-back" scenes in Star Wars period.
If and that's a big IF there is a "flash-back" it would probably only be a holo-recording of some sort.

I read the "link" story about Mark Hamill & I say: bull-#*+=!
Hamill's been in the entertainment industry for many years mainly as a VO actor.
He's not a super-star like Harrison Ford but I wouldn't think he'd be a "mess" on set either.
As for Ford being drunk, I highly doubt that too. I think it's a case where as reported, a stage/set door came down(broke) & Ford broke his leg.
Harrison Ford is 72. He's not a stunt man or actor in his late teens.
I've worked on a few TV & film sets too, both as talent and as production.
    PEOPLE GET HURT.
I was on the set of a web series & a cam operator fell off a counter and sprained his arm. And no he wasn't "drunk".
I've seen cameras break, lights & rigs fall over, vehicles wreck or get stuck. These things happen.

    Safety is no accident. ;)

One way to do a flashback in Star Wars is letting the audience see what Luke sees in a vision from the past while in meditation.

Ah, did not think about that. I guess they did that in Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, but it was more of a flash-forward and it was Anakin's nightmares rather than visions during meditation.

    I agree with post #415.
It'd be cool(well made) if JJ did a "flashback"/Luke vision where we(the viewers) see how Luke was in a horrible battle & was over-run. Like Tom Hanks in Saving Private Ryan. Where Hanks' Captain Miller gets "combat deafness" & the only sounds are Luke's breathing or heartbeat(s).

Well, having tiny ineffective guard railings directly over your flaming reactor core of doom makes it easy for accidents to happen. He was pretty much asking for trouble.
