Horsey creatures and Star Wars- that's like a wrapping up my two favourite things into one awesome present! So excited right now.

I guess if their bringing in more medieval themes, you need a horsey-like creature in there somewhere.

 

I wonder if the horse is going to glide in the air because it's being pulled by a truck .

 

I feel like regardless, this will feel really fresh. Like Naboo done right.

And I'm starting to think the fallout of the destruction of Hoffsnian Prime/The New Republic will be felt throughout the galaxy. I'm hoping Rian Johnson doesn't ignore that aspect.

 

Yeah, I'm not getting a funeral vibe either at this point. The fancy looking clothes would seem to suggest Chandrilla instead of Corellia at this point if the C on the guards hats means anything. Of course it could also be a completely new planet with a C in the name, but not much fun speculating on that right now .

Speaking of the stilt-legged horse creature, I'm guessing that the physical prop there is mostly just going to be used for reference, with the actual creature being CG in the final film... because it doesn't look like it has any sort of leg motion.

It's probably a stunt double because of how high he's sitting.... but his hair doesn't look too long at all to me.

The bit with the funeral is just fan speculation. Just because they are wearing black means nothing. Also the earlier images leaked posted earlier with extras standing near the beach. Apparently the dark robes they were wearing were to conceal their actual costumes.

Of course, we are all speculating based on intuition only. It could be anything. But it is exciting to see actual photos and have a little glimpse of what they are doing.

I think you are probably right. As to the person riding in front of Finn (or his stunt double as it probably is), the stunt double of Kelly Marie Tran maybe?

It very well may be a fancy ball or something like that. It could also be some sort of political gathering, after all the New Republic's seat of power was destroyed and they're going to have to rebuild somehow. And it could be a funeral. Only time will tell. 18 months to go, I'm excited!

 

Yeah I was just kidding about the horse lol hut they'd have to cgi the people on the horse to make their movements more realistic unless the machine is utilize some sort of rocking mechanism ...

I don't think The Chancellor would be so predominant here unless they speak English...there's a reason as to why we never heard any of the aliens in The Republic Senste speak ...

 

Well, being an alien doesn't really equals he/she doesn't speak Galactic Basic Standard at all. After all we have plenty of examples for that in the PT...So for the moment I don't see a problem...

And also this white alien could be anybody. We really have no basis to know apart from just speculating, but as you rightly pointed out, at least on the basis of the leaked photos from the Dubrovnik shoot so far, compared to the other extras/actors all wearing black, this alien does stand out. He must be someone special at least among them...
