So far I'm up to ESB just finished watching it as I typed this. Started on the 9th of November with TPM and did one film a week leading to 2 SW films next week, ROTJ on Monday and TFA on Thursday. What about you guys?

Well I was trying to finish some of the novels but now you tempted me to watch the movies too...
But I'll probably just waste my time in this forum and reading leaks cause I can't stop trying to figure out the plot of the movie...

I sure am. Watched ANH the other day, and will continue with V, I, II, III, VI in the upcoming days (once school commitments subside).

Yeah, that's what I'd wished I'd have done. I've watched up to ESB with my step daughter, but with each repeated viewing of the PT it just... ugh.

But I figure she should see all 6 so that she knows what's going on. We actually did watch all the movies last year, but she forgot a lot of what happened.

Haha, same here pretty much... just finished ESB a couple hours ago. Man that really is a good film.

After reading "a secret history of Star Wars" I learned that Kershner would do each scene 20-40 takes, kinda like kubrick. It really shows, each shot is really fantastic!

I also noticed one thing... those round circle lights on the falcon (in the hallways), they were green in ANH, but in ESB they are white. In TFA they are green again. Hmmm!

I am of the opinion that ALL the movies were good and each had their flaws, especially TPM, AOTC and ROTJ (Ewoks defeating the Empire....lol) but all in all there are all good movies some more than others.

All. Suffering through the PT makes the OT that much sweeter.

Lucas had mentioned that the Ewoks fighting the empire was an analogy for the Vietcong vs. Americans, a much lower tech military force took on the superior.

I saw ROTJ when I was a kid so it's hard for me to think of Ewoks in the same context that someone seeing it as an adult might. The scene where the Ewok dies while his friend is trying to wake him up... that still gives me tears every time (lol). I also really like the part where they mistake C3PO for a god... I thought that was a really clever way to work the big 3 into the Ewok story.

The Jabba segment of the film though... I am in complete agreement that it disrupts the flow of the film... I always remember watching it as a kid thinking "ok now that part of the film is over... now on to the good stuff!"

I did a marathon with my family over Thanksgiving. We watched:

    - A New Hope (with my nephews/nieces for the first time, they loved it!)
    - The Empire Strikes Back
    - The prequels (throughout T'Day, the kids LOVED Clones)
    - Return of the Jedi

Somehow made me love the films even more then I do already.

    I watched 4,5,1,2,3 and finished with 6.

My wife was hesitant to watch 6 because Hayden wouldn't be in it. Little did she know...

Watched the original trilogy 3 times this year, started in January, and will watch them again this week. About a month ago I watched the prequels after the OT. I always watch them in order of release as they were intended to be seen.

I watch the OT all the time anyway, the de-specialized edition and the Lucas tampered with ones. I've pretty much been doing that for 35 years now (from the theaters, to VHS, to Laserdisc, to digital).

My wife is coming with me on the 16th to see TFA and really is not a Star Wars fan - she really doesn't like it. So, I said we should at least watch 4-6 so she knows the background - she agreed, but has now bailed on me :( So I ended up giving her a synopsis, so she knows the basics (that was a tough job BTW!). But I sneakily watched a New Hope when she was out yesterday - and it was still fantastic after all these years :)

My brother has been rewatching the OT constantly over the last few months in preparation, so I've probably seen each film around 3 times this year too haha.
