I voted "Pretty Darn Good" because I think The Empire Strikes Back is perfect and Revenge of the Sith and Return of the Jedi are just about perfect.

Now, I like the title because it's cryptique and holds a double meaning IMO, which serves the purpose of setting the theme and tone for the trilogy = mission accomplished!

I like it. It's very much on par with the others.

Love the word "Awakens". It hints at potential powers beyond anything we've seen in the first six movies. It suggests the first six were "sleepers" compared to this.

I also like the way the word "Force" is ambiguous. It might mean a person, or it might mean a power, or it might mean something entirely different. I love all the ways such a straight forward phrase can be interpreted. It might even be an inside Disney joke about profits and revenue. All I know for sure - it certainly means more Star Wars.

Overall, an exciting title that makes me want to see the movie even more.

To vote anything less than 'Decent' is to risk dooming us to another lackluster trilogy, and a 30 year wait for a third attempt at a better Star Wars trilogy.

Kidding. But if you step back for a bit, temper your natural internet rage/kneejerk reactionism (pretty sure it's a condition we all suffer from), you can't help but be happy with TFA, or whatever the hell else they could have chosen.

Because we're finally getting another genuine, honest-to-goodness Star Wars! Our old friends are coming back. Let's be grateful and keep it positive.

I've personally shared the title with many people the minute SW announced it. Many of the reactions have been tepid, even among my super diehard sleep-in-front-of-the-Ziegfeld crew. But to me, they're missing the point. Who cares what those words are. Take a macro view of things, keep an open mind, and try to get everyone excited... real Star Wars is back.

P.S. Please post your alts as the OP mentions if you have a better title.

I'm liking it. When it first dropped I kept thinking of "the force unleashed" rather than awakened, but I'm over that now and the title sits well with me.

He kept saying 'false flag', the whole video was a false flag. A commercial disguised as a Star Wars video article. Awful.

When I read The Force Awakens for the first time, I was pleasantly surprised. It gave me an immediate feeling of excitement for the rebirth of the franchise, which was probably the main goal of the title in the first place. I was dreading A New Dawn and The Ancient Fear titles, which I felt were awfully bad, worse than anything thus far. Dawn makes me think of Twilight and the Ancient Fear reeks of bad fan-fiction. I think because there is zero context for the new title and because things like twitter and comment sections exist today, people tend to jump on waves of criticism, everyone trying to take their jab at the title based on the little information they remember from Star Wars (yes, little, most people only have a broad notion of what Star Wars is, like something to do with Jedi and "May the Force be with you"). Most of the criticism lies, bizarrely, in the usage of "awakens" and how it sounds "funny." Has mass culture lost connection with the English language? I don't understand it. The rest of the criticism has to do with "When did the Force sleep?" with everyone and their grandmother making a pun or joke about it. Again we don't have any context on what is being awoken or what the term actually means for the film. Of course people are free to do as they please, I just think with the way things are going, the new film is going to be a running joke until some real promotional material is released, verifying for all, that this is the real deal.
